Was just this price the other day https://slickdeals.net/f/17251522-15-6-fangor-1080p-portable-travel-monitor-ips-w-cover-usb-c-mini-hdmi-70-free-shipping

I got mine a few days ago and used it a little bit. I was able to connect my laptop via USB-C only and power and display just fine. Was also able to connect my switch, but it took a lot more cables to achieve the same goal, but possible at least!

Initial impressions is it's cheap, but the screen is half decent. I wouldn't say it's good for gaming, but for having a second monitor while on travel to do excel, emails, web browsing, etc it will do the job just fine. The "case" is pathetic imo. It doesn't hang on it very well when closed, and the propping up options were not intuitive to me, nor do they do a good job, I found it falling down occasionally.

Bought this a week or so ago when it was listed before. Returned immediately. I guess you can't expect much for the price, but the screen sucks and the colors are terrible. It was also that it handle both video and power through a single usb c cable. I ended up ordering this Viewsonic that looks way better and only needs a usb c for power and video. It's currently $20 less than wait I paid for it last week.

Most of these non-named brand monitor deal posts have people coming back saying how horrible they are. I had 2 (one from that $30 price mistake and and another after that) that both ended up fluking out one way or another. The second one had problems with resolutions. I couldnt find a resolution that all 4 sides would not run off the screen a little bit. Both had to be shipped back to China for warranty repair/replacement which I decided not to do and pitched them out. It's amazing how China can ship items so cheap, but sending it back to China costs 4 - 6X's more.

But my ASUS ZenScreen has been going strong. Looks great, I even dropped it once, and not one complaint about it yet.

Edit: Also the power adaptor on most of these are optional. Not all USB-C ports put out enough power.

Got one, returned it. The screen itself was okay but the stand was awful and unusable.

For anyone shopping for this sort of no-stand 1080p panel, be aware that in the same price range some of them can be powered by the USB-C cable so you don't need an AC adapter

I just received the Coolhood brand for $50 but all these Chinese ones are kind of the same.

Works as intended. The best thing I like about these newer external displays is you can use any variation of input+power. Can be powered by external power or just one cable from the monitor. Can charge the connected device as well if external power is sufficient enough.

Stand sucks, magnet isn't strong enough and you can't use it on your lap. Still haven't found a solution for using these kinds of displays on anything other than a table

I mounted this in a wood frame and hung it in my kitchen. I use it with Unifi's Viewport to display our security camera feed.

It can be powered directly from the MBP via a single USB C cable, if I plug in the power to the monitor I'll charge the laptop too. But I feel like I can break it any time, definitely not something I'd lug around traveling.
