12 cans of 6.5 oz Snows chopped clams for $10.91 ($18.84 - 40% off Subscribe & Save coupon). YMMV.

Great deal for chopped clams. I bought these and the 6 pack during last week's deal on chopped clams. Normally, these cans of clams are around $2 each so this is a great price.

Linguine with clam sauce.
The pack of 6 is actually a better deal and qualifies for the 40% off subscribe and save.

Clams don't really have skin, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks OP. Hopefully it is wild caught and not farm raised as someone said.

I'd to cancel the can of pink salmon in order to get the 40% off coupon back.

This is a fantastic deal.
I always stock up these when Costco have them on sale(which is not very often).
Then whenever Costco have fresh clams, I use these to make one hell of a linguine with clam sauce.
These are much better then the baby clams in can. No smell.

Actually, the bivalve farm industry is one of the most sustainable and a huge positive for the environment. Take mussels and oysters, mussels are grown on suspended ropes in an area of a bay, and all they do is filter feed and clean up the water. Oyster farming creates new habitat for literally everything else while protecting against erosion.

But the clams in these cans are surf clams (other name is bar clam). They are easy to dredge out in the wild via commercial.

couple of cents cheaper/oz. but the 51 oz is farmed vs wild for the OP if that matters.....

EDIT: looked again, farmed under "About this item" but on can says "Wild caught."
The 51 oz is indeed cheaper per ounce, and I believe it is chopped instead of minced. I just wanted to extend the 40% a couple of meals farther - we don't really do clams where I'm from, and I've never bought them in my life, although we do like clam chowder when it's been served.

Yes, definitely a little cheaper. The cans can be purchased either chopped or minced. But I went with the chopped dozen cans because I don't think we'd finish the 51 oz (3+ lbs) in one meal! We'll keep it in moderation and more fresh in the long run.

I thought about buying another dozen cans with my wife's account, but looks like sales is over.

FYI - one can has over 1,000mg sodium.
that's true, though, 1 can is 2 servings.
i'm guessing the sodium includes the liquid, so if you drain and just use the meat, should be a lot less.
also one could dilute it to make a pot of seafood based soup, too!
