OP posted another deal that has a higher spec laptop for about $50 less. also helps that the other machine doesn't look like it was made out of play-doh and dipped in mustard.

That GPU only goes to 105w though, this one will likely outperform it.

Possibly, however the 3070ti may be less likely to thermal throttle due to lower power consumption as well. This thread is also a good deal in terms of bang for your buck... Going to add stuff....

To me, this is perfect for a family room, a kitchen, etc... I have kids and we use our old gaming laptop in the family room. Definitely time for me to upgrade, but I can't cause my wife will not allow it.

I'm hoping to upgrade my laptop in about a year from now.

But this laptop IMHO, is HOT. I think you can upgrade the RAM to DDR5 if you wanted. Definitely needs at least 32GB IMHO.

What I want and what I want to spend are two different things....
I want to spend $800ish before RAM and hard drive upgrades.

And what I want is...
Newest Gen GPU, newest Ryzen CPU, QHD, 400+ nits... problem, you can not find this at 800ish, you are lucky if you can find it at 1400ish.
