If you have an Aldi nearby a 125g bar (vs. 100g here) is $1.99 year round. No 90% but highest is 85%.

Remember reading somewhere that 85% of this Lindt series is better than the higher cocoa % ones, in terms of quality/ingredients.

85% is the highest acceptable level (for some could be 78%) , where you can still enjoy it as a treat, higher that that it is like eating raw cocoa.

I used to but I got addicted to them. Worse are the chocolate covered almonds. It's harder to binge eat 85% bars I guess!

I prefer the Lindt bars you get in Europe...same brand...same 85% but the taste is remarkeably better in the European sold version imho.

For most people when you get above 80% it becomes too bitter. I got the 85% for precisely the reason you stated. It satisfies my chocolate urge and prevents me from binging. laugh out loud

That's because the 85% is usually made from non-dutched (processed with alkali) cocoa. Supposedly processing with alkali makes it more miscible in water, darkens the product, and makes the flavor more mild, but may also strip the cocoa of some of the flavonoids (antioxidants) that make cocoa so beneficial to ones health.

$25.39 is my limit. I refuse to pay $25.45!

At 90 or 95 % wouldn't it be better to just get cocoa?
