This is nothing new, its been going for 6+ months but they changed it to points versus expiring coupons. Also the ink rewards have been cut in half offering only $20 in points versus $40
This new points system basically is a 50% reduction from the old rewards plan with the exception of this battery promotion giving 1000 points instead of 500 points ($2.50).

I usually just recycle like a single AA or AAA battery a month
Last year they ran a recycling promo for 3 months that gave $10 credit for tech (one item per month). At the time, I didn't need anything so I redeemed my $30 in credits for school supplies that I donated to a school program. I wish they would bring that promo back.
I had nothing but problems with that. They dont go bu the date it was delivered to them via the ups tracking, they go by when the open the box. If they dont get to it before the month , they will count it for the next month. If you dont know know when they open the box and say you ship March recycling in on the first of march, you will loose those credits. Also in the past, I took pictures of the shipping lable next to the open shipping box that had neatly stacked and countable cartridges in plain view only to get credit for a few of the 20 cartridges I mailed in.

Unless something has drasticaly changed, I recomend bringing them to the store. At the counter choose both e-mail and printed reciepts so you KNOW they are not going to say they never got it and if they do you have proof.

I stopped shipping the recycling because it is too much a pain in the arse to call chat with them in corecting their error.

Thanks OP. Ever since Staples partnered with Amazon to do returns, it has been easier to go and do the recycling as well for their rewards.

I log onto my account once a month but I didn't see or at least notice it until today. Without looking it up, I remember Staples did offer $ off coupons for recycling tech about a year or more ago but don't recall seeing any similar offer recently.

It's been nonstop. Only tech generates $10/30 coupon

Oh okay. Haven't really bothered with Staples much for a couple of years, other than the 10 monthly ink recycles.

looks like we need to activate the offer now. it also has an expiration date, does it mean they will issue an offer every month? or this is the end for tech recycling...

The offer says you can recycle tech online as well as in store. How do you recycle tech online? Do you get a shipping label like you do for ink recycling?

Don't you have to buy ink in the last few months to be able to get credit for the recycling credits? Or did they change that

Yeah for printers they sent you a label (not box) but its pointless for $5
Just go in store
