This is such a great console. The micro SD cards that ship with the units are really terrible and have to be replaced. Loaded with an aftermarket OS like garlic it will seamlessly play anything up to PS1. NES and SNES plays perfectly. You can get ROMs online easily without risk of viruses, Google "tiny best set" for a package of games curated specifically for this console.

Ordered the same unit from official seller (Anbernic) on Tiktok for $20 before taxes (some clip on coupon for new user). Signed up using Apple Hide My Email, will delete the account & the virtual email address once order is delivered.

It's only better in that it has more powerful processor and analog sticks. OS, and overall quality isn't better. Analog sticks on r36s are janky and exhibit drift early on as reported by lots of users, dpad kind of sucks and some of them have crappy face buttons. And even with a faster processor it can't really handle ps1 and lower games better nor does it really play dc ds or n64 really well. Not to mention that it's bigger and not as pocket friendly. With that said it's cheaper these days than the anbernic, right now about 30 on ali, and for first portable console it's not bad.

Anyone able to direct me how to get 3 of these at the best price? Would love to give them to my kids so they can experience games I grew up with. I don't have TikTok but I can get an account if that's the best way, but would need a link if possible.

Every time I go to AliExpress now, there is a buy 3 get free shipping promo. It is a limited selection of stuff that ships from them directly I think. You can order up to ten items at lower than normal prices. Their answer to Temu? Anyway, it had this thing for $3.79.

Ignoring the dubious quality(and legality) of some items, I did have a problem once. During checkout, Paypal was not working for some reason and I ended up using a credit card. There was I think five items in the order and they each processed and billed separately. The whole order was about $20 but I ended up getting hit for $30 a few times by my credit card as each was processed as a cash withdraw. CC did reverse the fees when I contacted them but warned me it was a one time deal.

Scared me off Aliexpress for a couple years. They were not taking Paypal for some reason and I would not use a card again. Stopped going to the site for a while

I did start occasionally using them again last year. Always use Paypal and have not had any issues. It does seem as though they are generally pricier for same items on Temu and have a lot more shipping fees than in the past. Some things are not available on Temu though.

Ali recently started shipping a limited amount of items themselves in the buy 3, free shipping promos. I think to compete with Temu. Some deals there if you need any of the items offered. I personally have bought more flashlights than I need. There are some decent pocket lights for $3 that are normally around $10.

$200 is a great price for something that can emulate up through PS2. Also base model is $150. It came a little too late, as the Odin 2 is a higher value prop.

Steam deck you bought was probably Gen 1 used right ? Anyway, "Android emulation" and "mobile PC gaming" are different use cases

I own both. The R36S is slifghtly larger and easier to hold. The joysticks are a great feature. However, the build quality is better on the RG35XX. The buttons feel better as well. The R36S feels slightly cheaper.

I only see these for $65 - $20 = $45. I guess the price increased now.
