Made in China. You'll be hard pressed to find anything anywhere close to this price range with a solid top that isn't.

Cheapest used on Reverb or eBay right now is $200, but most are between $250 and $350.

May be made in Indonesia. Zoom in close in the sound hole and you'll see that in the model shown on the Guitar Center website. The one on Fender's site shows Indonesia in the sound hole too.



I have the Newporter Player version and it is made in Indonesia.

They have a few "California [guitarcenter.com]" guitars on sale on the product page. Just page down and look for whatever. There's a Redondo all solid wood on sale too.
I bought the All Solid Malibu Classic and it came in flawless (via amazon). Gig bag is sturdy as well. Pretty sure Fender took their time with these.

The smaller body on the Yamaha could be better for a beginner, particularly a smaller person. That said, I didn't see any slickdeals recently in a search for the FS800, so if you paid $229 for the Yamaha this Fender is probably the better value considering it has integrated electronics.

These may be great guitars but I don't dig the strat style headstockeven though I have a Stratocaster..but if you do.. rock it.

Sincerely doubt it. Fender is known for their electrics, but not for their acoustics.
