soldered RAM at this price should be obsolete.
I returned a G14 for this and am much happier with the build quality and software stability, also the OLED display is amazing! The battery life isn't bad if you're not using the RTX 4060...
Use the regular gpu for almost everything and not the 4060. It's in the Lenovo vantage settings

Is this better than the g14? Battery life when not gaming? I've had to return a g14 because you have to play with it too much for it to run right, also it overheated and crashed playing basic games

The new DELL XPS14 (coming later this month) is going to have very similar specs to this as well (and also a 14.5" screen). It will be more expensive, but also configurable with better specs. I'm personally interested to see how that looks when they finally release it.
But it's also a dell. My wife has been on Dell her last few laptops and is frequently frustrated. I tried Lenovo legion after Asus, and will never look back.

Anybody use this for photoshop? I've read the spec requirements for a gaming machine would be similar

Ehh.. I used to supply desktops/laptops for our entire company and I tend to swap out my laptop every year or so. I've gone through my fair share of all them and have seen each brand have it's issues. It's usually a crap shoot and 100% dependent on the models you're buying. My current Latitude 7340 is bullet proof and built better then the Lenovo Thinkpad T14 I had last year. It's also lighter and feels more solid to me. On the flipside, I got it with the intel P cpu's for more horsepower and the thing run VERY hot. My Thinkpad, while heavier and more plastic-y, ran a lot cooler (it had an AMD CPU, which DELL barely sells). Generally speaking, the XPS-line - while not business-grade, is built very well. I had the XPS15 a few years back before I decided to switch to something smaller, and have very few complaints about the XPS line. I also purchased the XPS13 for a few colleagues as an ultra-portable work laptop - also very few issues.

I'm going to wait and see how much more this can drop, got lucky with the legion slim 7 pro open box but the oled and 4060 for this are super tempting

I just got a OLED 2k 16" laptop last week. Honestly, I can't tell the difference in resolution at all from my FHD laptop unless I really really struggle -- maybe my eyes are old. The OLED looks fantastic in correct lighting conditions, but whenever there's the slightest chance for glare -- like during daytime in a room with any natural light -- I'm reminded how much I'd rather have put a matte/antiglare coating on a non-touch IPS screen.

Just my newfound opinion on 2k OLED laptop screens.

Agreed - but unfortunately all the new OLED laptops sub $2k have soldered RAM. Including the 2024 models that just came out from Asus and HP.

I paid $1006 on January 31st for my Open-Box excellent with 7 hours on it. Chatted with CS for a minute and they wouldn't price match for the Open-Box. But now I'm considering just spending the extra $54 for the brand new version. With certain CC's you can get a full extra two years on top of the manufacturer's warranty, but not applicable on open-box items. Hmm..
