Just returned this a week ago or so. Grabbed the 32GB version of it for the same price last deal from same poster I believe.

Nice little laptop but battery life and fan noise are terrible. I used it for about 3 weeks and I had to send it back.

I do a bit of dbasing and light gaming. Back to looking...

Damn, I keep hoping the 32GB config will go on sale but doesn't seem to be happening. Maybe I should just pull the plug on this.

Interesting. Are you sure it wasn't the Intel version? That one is branded as "5i." AMD laptops are supposed to give you ~9 hours.

It was AMD, same CPU. Watching a 720p YT in bed (70 ambient) with this thing on my lap (not buried in the covers) and the fans were howling.

Doesn't seem to be everyone's experience but it was mine. Gotta say, I didn't care for OLED either but my daily driver is an OLED so it's not like I'm new to a top notch panel.

You're not getting 9 hours on this thing and if someone is, well, they are probably using it for a few mins and then closing the lid for a few hours.

Man, if this $100 less I'd buy this over the 2022 Zephyrus G14 for $689. I want 4060 and 14", but can't justify the price difference.

I'm sure this will be a great gaming laptop for some.

Maybe your drivers were corrupted or outdated. Did you try clean-installing Windows? That sounds worse than an Intel laptop, and AMD should be better than an Intel laptop so it just doesn't add up.

Those are not the issues. You have to jump through some hoops to get decent battery life. This might not be the OLED version of the laptop, but in the thread were some steps to get longer battery life: https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLe...d_battery/

It might not be that complicated to increase the battery life, but will at a minimum require forcing iGPU mode and likely limiting overall power: https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLe...ife_sucks/

It's a pretty good laptop overall.

If you check Lenovo outlet you can sometimes find just that; the same model for $100 less.

You definitely didn't set this laptop up properly. If you're expecting that type of battery life you need to be disabling cpu boost, setting tdp limits, and running off igpu. Any high powered gaming laptop would give you the same result.

Ironically the Lenovo was praised among reviewers as being one of the easier ones to configure off presets. Not sure what went wrong for you tbh.

While there may be steps to improve battery life, if it's that far off from advertised capabilities out of the box, then it's just an example of poor Lenovo QC to ship a system with such borked settings.

I like several of their models on paper but man I sure don't feel like playing driver roulette to get basic functionality without fans blaring.
