I own this Laptop. Some things not mentioned in the specs:

Fingerprint reader in the power button for Windows Hello.
1 spare m.2 slot for additional ssd (2x total)
USB-C charging is possible up to 140w (with Lenovo's 140w USB-C charger)
Some reviews state G-Sync can be enabled when using the d-GPU only, others state this does not have G-Sync. (I should test this, but am not sensitive to screen tearing so I don't notice it to begin with).
Aluminum lid and base plate.
Charging brick is significantly smaller than the bricks for the Legion 5 Slim 16" model and others with a 200W+ brick.
Dedicated calculator Fn button (lol).

I also purchased an Asus g14 and objectively the screen, build quality, and cooling on this laptop is head and shoulders above the g14 - all without any extra tweaking.

On the negative side, this laptop has all soldered RAM, but it's ddr5-6400 at least. In comparing 780m performance between games with the 32gb version I ordered from Lenovo directly, I haven't seen any marked difference. Power users may see a difference in some specific use-cases.
A little review after owning mine for a while. I've owned lots of laptops over the years, including several MacBooks/Pros, Alienware, Spectre x360, and have replaced my Zephyrus G15 with this Lenovo Legion Slim.

The size and weight are excellent. It's lightweight and thin, and gaming performance is still very good.

When not in gaming performance mode, I regularly get 8-9 hours on a charge with office and web use. Definitely a solid workday laptop that doesn't look like a gamer laptop to the untrained eye.

The keyboard is good. The touchpad is fantastic. Superior to my Zephyrus track pad, and on par with MacBook pro and HP Spectre quality. It's accurate, clicks are perfect, gestures are intuitive and smooth - it's easily one of the best track pads out there on a modern laptop. This surprised me, as I didn't think the Zephyrus track pad was particularly bad.

The screen is where this thing leaves competitors in the dust. Getting that sharp of an OLED screen with the taller aspect ratio for $1100-ish, WITH a 4060??

Hella fine deal. I am very pleased with the laptop over all, and even 16GB should be good for the lifespan of the laptop for gaming and basic work, at least. I did pay a little more and get the 32gb when I bought mine because I do heavy video and photo editing on mine.

Games don't ever use it all, but video and photo projects gobble up RAM in a hurry!

Overall, highly recommend this laptop, and am happy to answer any questions about it, including comparing to competing models.

One odd thing missing is USB4. You're stuck with the included 4060 graphics since an eGPU isn't an option.

edit: one other odd thing - going from performance graphics mode to integrated only for max battery life requires a restart. on my Zephyrus it didn't, so this is strange and inconvenient to me. If someone knows something I'm missing, please let me know.
I really really want this laptop, but I also really really want 32gb of RAM

Who would've thought we would see 4060 and oled laptops go for this low this fast, that's absolutely crazy.

For $90 more you can get the 32gb version (smaller SSD) if the deal is still active: https://slickdeals.net/f/17295211-lenovo-legion-slim-5-laptop-ryzen-7-7840hs-14-5-1800p-32gb-ram-rtx-4060-1140-30-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo

I think its dead now, I had one in my shopping cart last night and this morning the deal is not there anymore. I was debating on it just because it was going to be almost April until it showed up. Oh well, will keep looking I suppose :-)

Ordered the deal Dealer_Of_Slickness posted with the 32gb RAM. I was basically given a ship date of 3/19 but it shipped 3 days after I purchased it and will be here on 2/28.

Glad it was quicker. Was talking to my wife about it and she laughed at how long shipping would take. She's an Apple fan so she just walks into Costco or whatever and is out the door with a device. No waiting a month for shipping haha.

Eluktronics has what seems to be an ok deal but I'm more familiar with Lenovo. [progamerstech.com]

Totally fine with the soldered RAM in this. I'll hand it down to one of my kids, sell it off or recycle it later. Didn't purchase an OLED thinking it would last forever.

Wanted to add, if you're in the US you can't get 140w charging with Lenovo's charger but you can get 135. c140 needs 220v to get 140w, but c135 can get ~135w with 110v (standard us outlets).

If you want a compact usbc charger for this in US, grab a c135 off ebay or other reseller site (lenovo doesn't sell it themselves in the states).

I ordered the one mentioned above yesterday, but I upgraded SSD to 1GB and memory to 32GB. It came to $1,179.79

This one from Best Buy is $1,049.991. $130 less with 16GB versus 32GB.

If I use this mainly for gaming, should I just go with the 16GB RAM one? Everything else looks the same as far as I can tell??

Basically the same model is on sale here somewhere but on Antoine on eBay with the 4060 for $849.99 but the m.2 is only 512 I think. Correct?

Only negatives after owning this laptop is the speakers and the annoying power led, which are easily fixed. When I first ran the laptop the fans were running loud at idle which was odd, after windows updates and bios update through the lenovo vantage software I didn't see this problem again. The fans do get real noisy if you're gaming heavily.

I believe this model of lenovo should have the dedicated mux switch so switching from integrated to dpu doesn't require a restart. I know the cheaper lenovo loq models have it
