Ridgid revamped their LSA recently. Instead of having to take the defective tool or battery to a certified repair facility, you now just send it to ridgid directly. I recently sent in an old Gen4X light that didn't turn on any more. Start the process on the ridgid LSA site, print return label, ship it, got a replacement current Gen light (since the old one wasn't made anymore) in about 3 weeks.
If a Ridgid battery develops a fault or eventually ages out due to charge cycles, they'll replace it. If you run it over with a forklift, they won't.
Lifetime warranty also.

If you forgot to register Ridgid tools in the first 1 month will they still honor LSA replacement?

No. It will be the standard warranty, no exceptions since it is tracked and documented by each items serial number.

I've bought a number of tools and registered them with the LSA.

In one case, I bought a dril/impact driver combo with 2 batteries in November 2012. One of the batteries died in November 2019. I called the number, and they asked me to run a few tests. Then, they mailed me a replacement battery. Super easy.
I'm curious....what tests did they have you run and what were they looking for?

Love RIDGID except for their crazy collet wobble on their impact drivers. Just bought the 4 tool combo for $215 but don't want to keep exchanging the whole kit cause the impact has collet wobble.

Will LSA replace the impact? Or say it's within spec

Isn't it first 90 days?

Not sure if this is old literature

"To take advantage of the LSA's benefits, simply register your eligible RIDGID power tool product and submit your proof of purchase for validation within 90 days of the date of purchase. No additional fees, no hassle."

Stuff like: put the battery in the charger. What lights come on? Put the battery in a drill. What happens?
