AccuBattery is great for helping with that as you can set it to alert you when it reaches a certain percentage. I set it to 66% because that gave me room for it to not reach that top 20% if I couldn't get to taking it off the charger at that exact moment. I've often still wound up falling asleep with it on the charger, but keeping it in range whenever I otherwise could has obviously made a big difference.
Got in on that Pixel 7 Pro for $99 with year of Mint service deal, but having the same fingerprint reader issues so many others have reported so I'm still using my trusty OP7P as my daily driver. Glad it's still got decent battery capacity.

Also, the Moto X Pure was one of Motorola's best reviewed phones (5 seconds of googling would have told you this) and it was not their last flagship released by a long shot either.
