If we all stopped buying these over priced shoes, they would be cheaper. I.e. Google cost to make Nike, you can argue that you're paying for the brand... but why? Hey look everyone I paid $150 for $5 shoes, I'm cool!?!?
Yup instantly judge people wearing hoka , just ugly with that logo
HOKA is trendy. Popular with the fashion forward crowd. Nurses dig HOKA. If a person wears HOKA shoes they'll get attention and pique curiosity. The brand's aesthetic is unique.
That said these shoes are functionally meh. They're overpriced. They have subpar durability and they exhibit a feminine appeal.
I have a pair of the Mach 5s. They look nice, fit well, and for walking around they're merely adequate. The upper is breathable but not super comfortable. Can't wear them stockless because the upper mesh is not soft enough. Can't run long distances in them. The midsole is just not up to the task. Considering the complete lack of a rubber outsole the traction is okay in normal conditions. But wearing this shoe in a workplace environment would be potentially hazardous. Anyways, their collecting dust in my closet and I rarely wear them. New Balance and Saucony make better shoes and I don't care if they're not as fashionable looking.

It's a total ripoff. HOKA prints money for their parent company, Deckers. The stock was $78 in March 2020. Recently the share price crossed the $900 threshold. Money, money, money.
Economists at the Federal Reserve released a study in 2022/23 that found that a large portion of inflation was attributable to something called greedflation. Businesses took advantage of the inflationary environment to raise prices irregardless of their own input costs. Corporate profit margins have reached record levels.
