Seems like the other sizes are also on sale for $14.99. Below are some of the size recommendations for various age groups.

Size 5 27.5" 17 oz Boys and girls ages 9-11 years old. This is the standard youth basketball you find in most stores.

Size 6 28.5" 20 oz Boys ages 12-14. Girls and women ages 12 and up. This is the official size for women's high school, college, and pro basketball.

Size 7 29.5" 22 oz Men and boys ages 15 and up. This is official size for high school, college, and the pros.

Got this in store a few weeks ago at this price. Didn't realize it was a "deal". Anyway, it's a good outdoor ball for sure.

Can you recommend a good indoor practice basketball? Both my kids who are currently in elementary are getting coached in Basketball and have games every weekend.

I currently have a standard rubber ball that was highly discouraged by the coach.

Elementary age… this one should be fine for practice. But make sure you get the right size.

Put the proper air pressure in the ball. It makes a huge difference on the court.

Your coach is a clown, id pull them from that league and find one where your kids will have fun and not be shamed by a loser adult for what ball they have.

It's definitely not like that; the coach was super friendly and professional. Coach suggested that the composite leather (better for the grip) and correct size of the ball are two major factors he highlighted for the success of the sport at least for their level.

Sorry for the late reply. I just noticed this post. I coach several AAU teams from middle to high school. I recommend investing in (ideally two) quality basketballs. There's a lot of 2 ball drills kids can work on. You can leave one in the car and one in the house. I'm not sure your kids ages. Have them try out the balls before you buy. Also figure out if you want to go with the larger men's size or women's. I've probably bought at least 100 balls the last 20 years. I recommend the following. You can't go wrong with any of these and I usually go with whichever one is cheaper at the time.

- Wilson Evolution - Probably the most popular indoor ball (as a result, make sure you label it, so no one mistakes yours for theirs). This is probably the go to ball in pickup games.

- Spalding TF-1000 Legacy - My personal favorite. I really like this ball to practice dribbling and shooting. The original TF-1000 was easily the best ball in the 90s.

- Baden Perfection Elite - used in Texas HS games. This ball is very close to the old school TF-1000.

- Wilson NCAA Evo NXT Game Ball. I'm not big on the bright orange color and the grip around the letters is a bit slippery but good for shooting.

- Nike Elite - newer ball. Kids seem to love it. Solid ball but I personally use the others more.

These are all indoor balls. They will wear down very quick on a hard court. You really can't go wrong with any of these. Kids just need to put in the work. Practicing with a mediocre ball will always beat not practicing at all.
