The grey keyboard with white letters is not a good combination if you care about seeing the letters on the keyboard.

Just a reminder, too, the SSD and RAM are soldered like a MacBook. Forever yours. Wink Ports are very limited also (like a MacBook).

Otherwise, a great price. Same unit at the Dell Outlet [dell.com] with 10% Outlet coupon is $665. Same 1 YR warranty.

EDIT: Also saw that one of the "top" cashback sites has another 15% back from Dell Outlet.

FYI: $120 off $599 still out there for select AMEX card holders.

Think this is what I have been looking for in a college laptop - minor configuration tweaks forces other options bumping this to 1k...

I'm still rocking a 1080p one with an 8250U in it, got for $600 bucks a few years back. It's a good machine. Buy for build quality and form factor and convenience.

Should be pretty good. With a "U" series CPU and just integrated graphics, I'd say that while Dell says 12+ hours, you'd likely get closer to a full 8 hours. I can't imagine getting 12 hours unless it sat there on lowest brightness and power saver mode and did nothing for 12 hours! laugh out loud

We have a bunch for work and are moving to different models. These get really hot and slow down since they don't have active cooling. I noticed mine slowing down with the limited RAM.
