Not sure if the size chart is 100% accurate for these specific guards. On the site, someone left a review in which they purchased a medium, but it was for 3'11" - 4'7". need a pair for the kiddo, but just unsure of which size to get.
The purpose of shinguards is to actually guard your shins. In recent times it has become the trend to wear smaller and smaller shinguards . many kids at our youth competitive practices sometimes even wear notion guards at all. With the sport primarily being played at the lower level near the feet, having protection for your shins is essential. At the youth level, having a slightly larger or bulkier shin guard is not going to make your child a better player. If the kid has skills, it has skills and will dominate regardless. Lighter cleats or smaller shinguards isn't going to make your player better. These things could potentially be an advantage for a much more developed player trying to gain the edge, but keep in mind with less protection also comes more risk of injury. This would be like a football player choosing to wear a thinner helmet.
