If you live near a Micro Center, the 5800X3D bundle is a far better deal and you have $100 left to put towards a case and cooler. The only advantage of this option is if you need the iGPU

The MSI bundle isn't even good if you need the iGPU, since the MOBO doesn't have any HDMI or DisplayPort ports. It has a USB-C port, which might support DP alt mode, but that is more difficult to connect to most monitors (requires USB-C hub or adapter). Weird CPU+MOBO combo in my mind.

Why is an APU paired with a board that doesn't have a video out?

X570 UNIFY's USB-C is only for data, with no video output, so you are right, this bundle is quite weird. Maybe MSI had a quite bad sale of high-end motherboards, they also had Z690 Unify and ACE for sale earlier.

Thanks, I didn't even notice that. Weird combo.

This is really dumb selling a 5700G with a motherboard that doesn't have graphics ports.

down voting this deal as being "not a good product" for matching an APU with a MB w/o a graphic port. AMD crippled these APU on the CPU side but make it up with a decent iGPU. So, when they match the APU with a MB w/o graphic port, it just has all the disadvantages of the APU without any advantages of the said APU...

it's technically an okay deal if you just so happen to want these parts for different applications but yeah, I wouldn't put them together.

I have this case from a pre-built I bought on ebay. It is a horrendously cheap case. There is no usb-c front header and all the metal is thin and flimsy. The glass screws have a grommet and it's not really a good design. It's a case I'll build up only if the case I'm replacing is worse. It's not worth more than 40 ish bucks.

Yeah I would personally go for the 7700X bundle for the extra $50 over the 5800X3D bundle to get onto the AM5 platform with a better upgrade path. I mentioned the 5800X3D here since this 5700G deal was for AM4.

Can't speak to the rest of it, but the X570 UNIFY is a good board. I've had it in my gaming PC since release about 3 and a half years ago, no problems.

not to mention smaller L3 cache (half as much) than the non-G CPU.
