FYI…I just ended Frontier service and they charge a $50 "equipment restocking fee" when you return the modem. I was completely surprised and apparently it's a new fee when ending service.

I'm paying $39.99 for 500/500. Their retention department don't make offers anymore. Only way I got it was to complain to Frontier twitter account and then some executive from social media team emailed me that offer. Before my bill was $59.99.

To get this new offer I would probably have to cancel my account and sign up through family member.

Retention is the reason why I stayed with Xfinity. At least I know I can go into the store, talk to the manager, and get the introduction offer without having to cancel my existing account.

I'm paying $74.99 for 1Gb which was a great deal at the time (2 years ago?). I think at the time they advertised the price as locked in for 3 years. Anyone had any luck with asking about getting these promotions as existing customers? I don't want to threaten to cancel and close the line as it's still much better than dealing with Spectrum.
I wasn't able to a couple years ago so I did end up canceling for 30 days. Used the 1 month free trial with Spectrum for that month. Very reasonable plan prices, but you do get what you paid for which is slow speeds and horrible upload. I couldn't even work from home properly even on their 1Gb plan. Then after the free trial was over with Spectrum, I went back to Frontier as a "new" customer. I'm tempted to do that again seeing the prices drop.

That's cheaper than what I'm currently paying. Might be worth it trying to get that price.

I've been with Frontier on 500/500 for almost 2 years. Was the first in my street to sign up for their service, and I couldn't be happier. I don't remember having any downtime or issues and the speeds are always constant.

When my first year expired and they bumped the price I called and without an issue they gave me the original price and a $5 discount. I think I pay $30 now

Edit, its actually $35 now, was $45 originally the first year
Competition keeps prices down: Economics 101. I have both Xfinity & Verizon to choose from, plus phone hotspot. When V tried to bump me from $35 to around $70, called & outlined to CS guy that I could swap back & forth to Xfinity, then Verizon, then Xfinity, then hotspot, etc., etc. Then I asked him what *he* would like me to do....stay with V at $35 or bounce around ??
Yeah, he made the right choice. Why argue with CS, they can add 2+2 and often get close to 4 as an answer. You're more valuable at $35x12 every year than $35x12 every other year.

I recently got their retention to give me gigabit for <$39.99 month. It just depends on which person you get. One will tell you that they can help while another will tell you that they cannot.
At the end of the day, I prefer Frontier or some other ISP only(FiberFirst). Spectrum and the others have ulterior motives and keep pushing cable/phone for no apparent reason.

Are there people who don't buy their own? You can get the same model off Ebay and it pays for itself in under a 1 year contract vs. renting one. ISPs hate this one trick! No return fee either!

Frontier is the best internet I've had 1000/1000 has been great very few outages. Previous internet spectrum was horrible lacking speeds and went down a lot with throttling.

I see the discounted prices in CT, but only as 12mo intro offers.

Be aware that while the (2) eero pro 6 that frontier supplies with 1 gig service is a nice piece of equipment, it struggles to actually throughput 1 gig service, both hardwired and wirelessly. This is well documented on sites like reddit.

Frontier has a site where customers can sign up to be notified when the eero max 7 is "available" through frontier, but it's unclear whether this upgrade will be free. The 7 can comfortably handle gig internet speeds: https://lp.frontier.com/max7
For 1gig svc, you will not getting the wifi 7 router. Upgrade to the 5g is a requirement.

Could a frontier customer answer a couple questions I have. Ive been thinking of switching from xfinity but wasn't sure about a few things. They laid fiber a year or so in my backyard. If i were to go with frontier how is the line ran to my house? Do I have to hire someone to run the line underground? If yes, can i just run it along the top of a fence that runs from the pole to my house to save the time and money of digging a trench?
Also do i have to use the equipment they are trying to give with the service? I have a very nice, expensive modem and router already that i use that I'm sure is better than theirs in speed performance.
Lastly when the year promo price ends. How much does it go up? And can they just raise the monthly price anytime they want? Thanks for any responses in advance!
The line is buried to the house when you order the service. If you want it in conduit, that is on you. The router is provided but if you want to use your own...it fine too. The fiber modem is required and it's provided; can not use third party fiber modem. The internet price does not goes up. Promo price is for added service like security software or streaming TV service. It's discounted or free until it is not. Basic internet comes with 1 router...price won't goes up or down. More often price will go down for new subscribers, but your price doesn't.

You must have dsl. Frontier is never the only option for broadband.

Frontier is such a poorly run business near me. It says there are offers, then quotes a generic "internet" once I type in my address. I spoke to them recently and asked what kind of speeds they offer...the response was "we don't quote speeds, the onsite technician will run a speed test and let you know how fast the copper circuit would be. What a joke! Who would sign up for any amount of money without knowing how fast the speeds are.
You don't have frontier fiber in your area. You are still on frontier copper aka dsl.

Yeah, this is the single biggest reason I'm not pulling the trigger yet with them--I don't like this type of fine-print gotcha. They also state in the fine print that they can charge you a $150 equipment fee if you fail to return the "free" eero router, though results vary widely, with some people saying they were told to keep the router and charged zero fee while others were made to return the router.
All eero router is returned. Some router aren't eero can be thrown away.

I declined their router upon install and they still charged the $50 fee when I disconnected last month. They also charged me another full month for 1GB @ $75 when I needed service for 3 days past the end of the billing month, before disconnection.

That fee was instituted when they advised they wouldn't (or couldn't?) charge a monthly fee anymore for renting their router, whether you actually had their router or not.

Buyers just beware. They get that money back later.

Overall, its been a great provided service unless they have an outage, you have to call into them for resolving anything, or you're disconnecting the account.

HTH
