That Staples Hyken chair for $100 stinks. I returned it after building it. The backrest is too short on it and didn't reach the tops of my shoulders and the headrest on it couldn't hit my neck and pushed my head forward too far. I'm 5'11''. It wasn't adjustable enough. Tempted to try this, but I think I need to sit in the chair before I buy it.
I found a hack to get a free* $25 gift card.

The price is $119.99, but if you spend $125+ you can get a free $25 gift card (I added a pack of $6 tape to get it over the limit):

$25 Visa Prepaid - Promo Code: 93621176
$25 Uber Gift Card - Promo Code: 86544632
$25 Gas Gift Card - Promo Code: 17798439
$25 Apple Gift Card - Promo Code: 15756963

You do have to find the gift card and add it to cart in order for it to work!
That's exactly what I did. Brought a Herman Miller for $300 two year ago. The air cylinder broke last month. It's stuck and I can't remove it to replace the cylinder.

Cheaper to buy a $120 hcair and replace it every two years.

Same question. How does this compare to the recent $100 Hyken? Been looking for a chair but wanted a Dexley so did not pull the trigger on the previous office depot chair deal.

Similar question. How does this compare to the Dexley? From what I read 6'2" is too tall for the Hyken (did not want to mess with a headrest hack), and I missed the Dexley deal @ $120. Best and blessings.

I appreciate that this doesn't have the same hidden fees that staples has ("packaging fee") or some bs at checkout.

It says 5 years in the specs.

I just went through the Staples (union & scale) warranty process to replace my seat on the Dexley as the mesh was coming out on one side after 3 years. It was super easy as they just ask for my order number, manufacture date, and confirmed I am under the weight limit and sent me a new seat within 2 days for free.

Staples warranty is better. I have several Office Depot and Staples chairs for a small office that has lots of chairs.

Staples warranty: 7 years. Quick phone call, they pick up the phone in 2-3 rings. Tell them your order number and the parts you need. Parts ship in 1-2 days, and you get them in 3-4 days after phone call. Very easy process.

Office Depot warranty: 5 years. You call and are on a "forever" hold for like 20-25 minutes. Eventually someone answers the phone. You get transferred a few times, and hope you don't get hung up on and have to start all over again. You finally get someone, and almost have to prove it was a defect and it wasn't your fault for screwing it up. Then you have to email copies of receipts. Then they have to "approve" the defect and agree to send you replacement parts. Then, about 50% of the time the parts are on "backorder" and have to wait many months for parts to arrive.

Apples and Oranges.

I completely agree with your assessment of Staples warranty. Super easy.

However, this thread is for an Office Depot chair. The complete opposite of super easy. More like super nightmare.

I experienced exactly what you are describing on an office max chair whose back got loose and started hitting the support within 1 year of purchase. Back ordered for months and finally sent another one that had the same problem 🤦

Save your money and buy a real office chair from Steelcase, Herman Miller, or HON. Yes, they're much more expensive but you won't be going through chairs every few years and they're more adjustable and much more comfortable. Also, you can get a good deal on refurbished units on Amazon that are in great condition.
