Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
My local Staples had one left and it was on clearance for $199. I returned something from Amazon and got a 15% off coupon that brought it all down even more. I think I paid around $180 at the end. I'm in NYC.
There were some really good clearance deals on certain Series S bundles last year during the Christmas season, but those were pretty YMMV. I got in on the $138 Walmart clearance, but I'm pretty sure that deal died within a few minutes of hitting frontpage. The hot deals at Christmas were mostly the Series X deals where you could get a bundled game for $350.
Since Christmas, I think this is one of the best prices that we've seen. MSRP is $300 and I'd say normal sale price is $250, based on my quick SD search.
There were rumors of some of their first party games going multi-platform and more not great rumors for the Xbox brand. They will address them on today on Xbox podcast.
Nothing you mention materially affects my purchase decision for this console.
The Xbox news of late ended up being fear mongering.
Rocking my Series S that I got on a SD from Target 2 years ago. No regrets.
I'm passing on the Series X and PS5 and will wait for the next gen. This gen is underwhelming.
The Series S and Switch were the only consoles worth getting this gen if you already had a XB1 or PS4. And with the Switch 2 right around the corner, the Switch is no longer worth getting.

I'm loving my series S from the $150 TikTok deal. $220 is a good price. Game pass is great and it looks like they're investing a lot in cloud gaming which is the future.

Either way that's two straight generations in last place.. I would hold off on investing in any Xbox systems

I don't see Sony or Nintendo trying to keep up. This is one area they are looking to lose. Hundreds of million of hours playtested on MS.
