Is this a good deal? Have twins on the way and was planning on using this with a Mockingbird stroller.
Edit: hmm, i see that for twins, this is not compatible with Mockingbird?

Great deal IMO. Paid $430 off Amazon cause we needed it and wanted the convenience of working with our Versa stroller. It feels like a $400 car seat should, with the exception of the load leg which doesn't have the same smooth adjustment as the rest of the seat (but is arguably the least important part and is optional to use).

I wonder if these are going on sale / clearance because UB is getting rid of them. Many complaints from CPSTs and parents for bad fit for the Mesa carseats. Plus, they just introduced the Aria at a very similar price point that's clearly targeted at Nuna's lightweight reputation. They may be getting rid of these at a discount to revamp the product lineup with the Aria launch.

Pretty much every retailer has the same price. Stacks with 15% registry discount from amazon

We've had stuff from both. I'd say they are both the same in terms of quality (and price). I'll say our UppaBaby stroller has been worth every single dollar.

I know over a dozen family's with Mesa seats including myself. Never heard a single complaint

I have a Mesa and UB Vista v2 stroller. I will take the minority position: the Mesa is extremely heavy and unwieldy to carry, the stroller isn't worth the premium, and infant car seats in general aren't worth it. If I were to do it all over, I would just get a convertible car seat from the start. You can spend $150 on a convertible that will last from birth to 120 lbs, vs $250 for an infant car seat that you may use for a year before you have to purchase the convertible anyway. I often found it was easier for short trips (eg to the pediatrician) to take the baby out of the car seat and carry him (which is what he preferred anyway) rather than lug around a heavy Mesa, or deal with a stroller. And for longer trips/walks, it isn't hard to transfer him in/out of a car seat and stroller.

Unrelated to the deal, but if you end up cosleeping (like most of the world and humanity's history), I would recommend a 79x79 playpen (mesh walls, foam on the railings) and a king size memory foam mattress topper (3" ok for us, may need thicker if you are heavy) to put in it as a bed. I got the pen for $40, the mattress for $60, and also a lounger for $40. He slept in the lounger, which was kept in the bed with us until he could roll (~4 mo), then slept in the bed directly. Ended up being much easier and more natural than a bassinet, crib, or Snoo (we returned ours), especially if you breastfeed. And unlike normal beds, you don't have to worry about him rolling/falling off, and it doubles as a safe play zone. This is not medical advice and this conflicts directly with recommendations from your pediatrician/AAP on safe sleeping-- they would strongly advise against both cosleeping and sleeping in a lounger, as both would be considered higher risk of SIDS.
