They all look the same to me, and the ones at Costco feel ultra low end, maybe it's metal, but since it's not one solid piece they seem to flex, and I'm guessing all of the keyboards are similarly bad.
Would a pro or a 7 model be more rigid and made of metal if the one I picked up was plastic?
All I know is if there is an i in the name it means Intel busted it when it comes to battery life.

The spec sheet and reviews. Most laptop manufacturers have a wide range of products for consumer, prosumer, and business. On top of these main categories, they have subcategories such as budget and premium. Some companies are a bit more clear on what is budget vs what is premium. I would say a good portion of this is build quality and quality of components. This portion doesn''t factor in specs though. Not all venders list specifications are clearly. For example, based on my understanding the RTX 40 series of GPU's have varying TGP (power usage) but not all venders, including the manufacturers own site lists the specification TGP for the specific card. This is a metric that matters.
I am considering a Legion for a potential purchase in a few months. However, I have a laundry list of requirements, but at the same time I don't have a limitness checking account. One of the things I'm looking at is high quality construction with quality components with a focus on the screen, keyboard, and Type-C charging (at least as an option) with Thunderbolt support. At the same time, I might shift to what I call "gaming-lite" which is closer to an HP Spectre x360 16-aa0097nr with a 4050 as build quality should be, or rather could be better.
