Happy meals are a scam, I've eaten dozens and I'm still not happy.

If you're ever in Chicago and are a McDonald's fan, be sure to check out the company's headquarters in the West Loop. There, you can try hamburgers offered in other countries, a unique experience you won't find anywhere else in the States.

I've been getting 1 dollar Big Macs and other "premium" sandwiches regularly with the app for years. I'd imagine I've single handedly cost McDonald's thousands of dollars. I never buy it unless it's significantly discounted.

Count me in on the Big Mac and happy meal day

Crazy how we have to revert to apps to get food that costs about $4-5 10 years ago during my college days.

$2.99 McChicken (was about $1.29 back then)
$3.69 Free Medium fries ($1.59)
$1.39 Large soda ($1)
-----------------------
$4.79 after taxes. (around $4 back in the days)

Phase out self serve soft drinks?

Late pandemic response, or cashing in already least expensive item to try to get increased profit margin?
They're wise to phase out the self service soda. Homeless can just wander in and help themselves whenever they want and absolutely nothing the restaurant can do about it.
Plus I wonder how many people just help themselves when they didn't actually buy a drink. Suddenly it's not so profitable anymore.

In reality it's kinda crazy that you're paying around the same price 10 years later

Depends on who you ask and not if you consider the long term medical bills Wink

Why for California? I thought California is the richest in America, now they need free food.
Now you have a problem with the rich getting richer?

You can get another McChicken with their bogo deal for $1 more. So it's about $5.87 so really, cheaper than back in the days. Considering prices keep going up, that's really a great deal

Thank you, went to McDonald's last week, got a egg mcmuffin breakfast meal with 1 hashbrown and a small orange juice, meal came out $14, outrageous.
This is the result of ridiculous minimum wages for no-skill jobs.

not free...also since there is no 1 dollar min purchases unless you just want sauce now.
its more than 1 dollar about what most of them are worth.

if i wanna pay regular prices I'm going to in n out or chick fil a instead of these trash corporate restaurants that are actually real estate companies selling their brand to increase real estate value and rent them out.

about 70-80% of the corporate restaurants are this now and their quality decreasing after going corporate and higher prices because of rent not wages.
hopefully these corporations all go bankrupt as they destroy themselves.
$1 items depend on the region. Around here you can still get a cookie or 2, small hot tea, small coffee, some places event let you get an extra small soft drink for $1

When the fastfood workers get $25/hr, the food would go up even more. At that price level, there are so many choices to choose from.

It's the same as Costcos rotisserie chicken and cheap hot dogs. Advertisment stunts
Not comparable at all. Costco charges membership fees to even eat at their food court.
