I don't understand why the Pro line doesn't seem to have a combo with an AMD cpu and 500 nit screen.
I love macs, but when you compare specs per dollar, Apple looks like dog poop by comparison.

Why do you want one with an AMD CPU instead of Intel? I'm just curious if theres a better use case or better performance with amd so wanted to know for my own info

I believe the primary driver is better battery life.

Generally AMD have better battery life than Intel with a possible small hit in performance.

I have amd and intel based gpu's in my laptops. I believe the amd laptop runs much cooler. The amd gpus from 3 years ago were less powerful and more energy efficient, hence better battery life. The recent amd gpus aren't low power anymore but I think they still run cooler meaning the laptop is quieter.

780M iGPU and better battery life, generally speaking.

I meant directly from Lenovo. I would consider that one, but it is $250 more than this. Even double the RAM doesn't quite make up for that kind of price difference!

I have seen it for $1499 a few months ago. Been waiting for it to go back on sale for $1499 and plan on picking one up.
I'd much rather buy from Costco since they have 90 day returns.

Won't lie my little 7700s7940hs asus tuf, half my games use the 780m over 7700s as I play older games. Works well

I dont get one thing, why Intel based models RAM [16GB (2x8GB) DDR5 4800MHz Memory] in comparison to AMD models have [16GB (2x8GB) DDR5 5600MHz Memory].

I have the AMD model
