Tempting, but the battery life of maybe-a-day-if-youre-careful just sounds like too much effort for me.

Feels like smart watches in general just aren't worth it yet... The sleep tracking stuff seems to be a gimmick too. Most smart watches supposedly can't open/respond to messages from Whatsapp and similar

I use mine (Galaxy Watch 5) to pay for everything, open/lock my house and car, listen to Spotify, and check emails and take calls without taking my phone

I love my Samsung watch but always have a pixel phone I'm interested in trying the pixel watch but I keep hearing all the health stuff is behind a Fitbit membership paywall I'm pretty happy with Samsung health. Is it really that pad on the pixel watch?

Mine just won't start due to battery problem. It's good that it has 1 year warranty. I took it to the Google Store in NYC and got a replacement on the same day.
Same exact thing happened to mine. Luckily, I still had ~2 weeks left in warranty.

Regretfully, no Google store in Austin, so instead took them nearly a week and a half to approve an RMA and issue a return label. Told me that I MUST return the bands and charge cable too, which I thought was weird, but figured they'd just be sending a whole new watch in retail box. Nope. Sent me a tiny little box with just the watch. No straps, no charger.

Contacted Google letting them know they need to return or replace the missing items, of course. Took them over a week to get back to me, asked for me to again provide my address, then another week to hear back from them and again asked me to confirm my address. Then they sent the charge cable. Only the charge cable.

Contacted them again asking where the bands were, and this time only took three days for them to approve the replacement band. At least they shipped it overnight, I guess.

Since it was just a watch I didn't get too bent out of shape and was definitely too passive when it came to all their issues, but if it was my phone, also Google made, I'd be unhinged after a couple of days. Not because I need my phone because it's my precious attention preoccupier, but I need it for work.

I couldn't believe how pathetic Google's post-purchase support was for their physical products. It felt like I was dealing with a Kickstarter that had three employees.

I've always been touch and go with Apple and used to give shit to people that were fully bought in to their ecosystem, but with age and less and less time for bullshit, I get it.

Google business support is no better so I stick with Samsung after having several Nexuses and Pixels. Also Samsung trade in deals have been real good.

Just ordered an open box one for $89: https://www.ebay.com/itm/305400189868
If you add to Watch List, you get an extra 5% off offer in few hours from this seller. Seems worth a try for Pixel users for $85 + taxes.

I recommend the Galaxy 4 Classic over the Pixel. Longer battery life and much better accuracy. You can get it for cheaper too if you look around. Just my 2 cents

Some dudes seem to be defining their manhood by the size of their watchface...must be compensating for something else 🤔

I had Pixel watch, then upgraded to Pixel watch 2 this year. This is a screaming good deal for a nice watch. Battery life is fine, I even used AOD and never had an issue, I had the LTE version as well. I did not use the sleep tracking, and charged it every night.

Does this require a pixel phone to sync? Or will any old android work?
