That's a once-in-a-lifetime type of thing, I think. I paid 1600 around when the Gen1 first came out -- to be able to pick this up for this price after years of insane inflation is surprising (and with a throne included, too).
Mine didn't have throne and sticks, but I was OK with that as I already had a nice throne and plenty of stick. This has a nicer hi-hat configuration.

I just got an open box gen 1 as an upgrade for a TD-17KV and if this has been an option, I would've done it in a heartbeat. As someone who has been doing extensive research on pricing of Roland kits very recently, this is an incredible deal.

I've been out of the game for a while- anyone got a good recommendation for a hi-hat stand for this kit? I'm gonna get a double-pedal so ideally it'd be a 2-legger with a base plate.

Gonna hit up the local shop to make the decision on Roc-n-Soc Nitro vs Ahead Spinal G for throne, but leaning Roc-n-Soc just based on my familiarity.

This price seems pretty great.

This is a fantastic kit for a beginner, all the way up to a very experienced drummer.
I have been playing for 20 years, and use this kit for playing gigs (weekly), and practicing (almost daily).
Nothing has failed on it so far after 6 years of what I would consider to be pretty heavy use.

Great price. FYI there is a 2.1 update on Roland's site for the Gen 1 module that adds most if not all the new software features.

Folks - do I get this from Adorama or pay extra from Sweetwater with 2yr warranty and customer service? Know Roland vdrum is built to last, but want to see if it's worth paying extra for peace of mind. Lmk

Is this a good kit to get started into drumming?

Any references to learn drumming ( I'm completely new)

Check out U.demy drum courses, they have a sale right now. Remove the dot, for some reason this site is removing that word. The Tom Jackson one looks good, only $13.

Edit: Sorry, U.demy sale over. Wait a few months, it will go on sale again.

If you're looking for a good two-legged hi-hat stand, I'd recommend either a Tama Iron Cobra or a Pearl Eliminator (or Red Line.) Both are double-chain driven and the matching kick pedals (also doube-chain driven) are pretty good too. The older Pearl Eliminator pedals also have a few cams to increase/decrease the foot pedal tension to your liking can even be converted to belt drive, if you're into that.) I still have my old Eliminator Hi-Hat Stand for my acoustic kit and want another one for my e-kit.

Could anyone comment on how storeable this is? I'd love to get this but have a very small area where I'd need to put it away each time. Does it fold up into a more compact factor I could slide up against a wall or something?

I have an old TD3 from years ago. I liked it because I could practice any time of the day or night but quickly became tired of it. It's nothing like an acoustic kit. This is a top notch deal, but make sure you understand what you're buying. Try playing one at your local music store first.
This. I had a Pearl Export Set and wanted to go e-drum to have flexibility in playing times. I tried it in GC and wasn't fond of the unnatural bounciness of the heads. Playing these vs. acoustic heads is completely different. I opted out of buying.

That said, if you don't have previous history with acoustic set, or are ok with the unnatural drum head feel, the Roland's are a go-to set and this is a great price.

Very solid set that paired up very well with my double bass kick pedals from the acoustic set. I still haven't gotten around to making my own custom kits due to the amount included. This is a pretty good price with the hi-hat stand included. The upgrade to the drum controller itself from the lower models is staggering coming from a compact set-TDK1V.

This looks like an awesome set. I can't play drums so I have to play a drum machine.
