We all smell different things, but I strongly disagree with this statement. To my nose, Oud Noir has a very approachable, entry-level oud that doesn't have a funk/barnyard spin that can turn most people off. Come to think of it, I think this was the first oud frag I ever bought.
This is also a moot point because you should never buy fragrances off of Amazon. Your odds of getting scammed/counterfeit bottles is high. Reputable fragrance discounters (Jomashop/Giftexpress/Fragrancebuy) have testers for $55 or less anyway, so shop elsewhere.

If you think Oud can sometime smells like rotten wood or fecal matter, then I suggest it's time for you to visit an ENT

I have this scent and like it. If you are not into fragrances, this is one you should test first. It's not the typical sweet smelling cologne style you are probably accustom to. I like it, but I have a few different bottles. I may buy another as a back up. I've heard this may be discontinued. "I've heard" this, but have no evidence tis is the case. I totally agree with both posters before me. Both views are or can be true.
I like it, but that's me. If you don't know what oud is, than it'll be new to you.

I have most of the Versace lineup for men and this is my least favorite =/. Definitely a strong musky type of scent.

This fragrance has dominating note of Oud. Oud is popular is middle eastern products, it smells like rotten wood, sometimes it can even come off like fecal matter. Highly recommend testing this first before buying.
Which is why you never shake hands with a lefty

It is! There's a new Oud Wood Parfum coming out next month but I can't even justify Tom ford prices anymore. Hearing it might be $600 for 50ml.
Ever since TF sold the company, it has done nothing but go downhill, especially in quality.

Seems to happen to every company once they've been bought out. Same thing happened with Creed.

Oh well, I guess I'll start checking out some clones Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

While this may smell close to TF Oud Wood, TF fragrances are in league of their own. My only problem with TF Oud Wood is that it doesn't last that long for the $ spent. I have Ombre Leather and it lasts in eternity. Another good one is TF Tobacco Vanille.

I rate TF > Creed for innovation, but that's just me.

If you haven't yet, check out Xerjoff. Naxos is a great start in their line imo.

>>>>>>> Beware, these are not being sold by Versace or any authorized retailer like Macy's, Dillards, or Sephora. Amazon is known for selling fake Versace fragrances.

Far from a SLICKdeal, it's not even a deal. This fragrance sells for the same price ( tester ) on jomashop and fragrance.net. The non tester bottle is just slightly more ( ~$65)

Wouldn't this be more of a mature/formal/business scent rather than suited for a man in his twenties/thirties? I have heard some praise for this scent by older men.

Also, after doing some research the oud note is subtle compared to other oud fragrances referenced here. It's woody and short-lived.

Personally, I think that no one should spend $50+ on a fragrance that they haven't tried first. There are a few sites out there that offer small samples of a wide variety of scents and people can also stop by Sephora or whatever to try stuff out. Some scents just don't match up well with you, others you may not personally like the smell of, and if you have a spouse/significant other there's another factor to take into consideration.
I understand what you mean. I go to ULTA and Sephora and test out fragrances myself. They don't have everything I'd like to test but they have a bunch. Trying it out first would be best. I'll blind buy some clones, but even some of those will be over $50. Shipping cost will sometimes make it unappetizing for me to order samples, but I totally get it. I have a couple of Tom Ford ouds that I just don't get the hype, but too late now! So I get it. I don't even like to suggest fragrances. Doesn't smell the same on everyone and even if it did, they may not like it! I have some that I really like and girlfriend doesn't. You just never know. LMAO

I "think" it's better suited for older, but who really knows what others will like!Confused Hard to tell for sure. You're correct. I think the oud note is MUCH more subtle than others. I have some that smell similar to leaving the cigar lounge. This has more sweetness than some heavily oud focused ones do. I really like it. If this were a bit cheaper, I'd buy another backup bottle. But I wouldn't promise a friend I' know he'd like it. Confused
Just to be clear. I'm not saying it's a sweet oud. Just saying it's not a heavy oud only fragrances. Better centered than others I have. Appealing more to the masses, relatively speaking!

Not buy any fragrences from Amazon any more.

Too many counterfeit items ships & sold by Amazon.
I've heard this a few times. Versace Flame is at a decent price on Amazon now and I'm tempted to get it. Reviews are real good (in my opinion) but I'm worried about fakes.
Damn! I don't know if I should or not.

Oud smells like rotten wood, you must be living in your mom's basement with a cat and need some help.
Last year I visited Doha and got oud essential oil and a few Parfum
I just need to apply a very, very small amount and it lasts not only the entire day Sometimes after washing I can still smell on my shirts, every time I wear a few people complement me.
Let me tell you one more thing you can't afford that....
