Are you the one joking? Issues logging in are well documented. I wasn't able to play all weekend because of the server capacity issues, managed to get in the other night by retrying for 15 minutes. As you noted they dropped an update today which adds an AFK timer which should help this problem significantly.

Game is definitely fun, replay value remains to be seen as there isn't much variety in gameplay.

So, you pay for it, redeem it, install it and then launch it. It will, very likely, immediately throw an error at launch about "Server at capacity". You can't even proceed to training part.

Workaround:
1. Find a person who is already playing this game
2. Add him/her on steam
3. Go to his/her profile on Steam
4. Click on Join Game option from the profile

The game starts without any server issues. There are plenty of nice folks on reddit who posted their steam id and immediately accepting friend requests.
I bought the game yesterday and did that. Discord community was fantastic as well. Mic is not mandatory but really useful to have. Specially if you want to split the group to finish side quests in parallel.

Bought the game, there were some bugs and server issues but they fixed that prior to last weekend.

Servers were never broken. They were maxed out. HellDivers 1 saw 15k players. HellDivers 2 has seen upwards of 450k players. They did not expect that much people. Give them a break.

Probably during the launch and a week after but there are no issues now for me at least, I'm on PS5 and my buddies are on Steam on different continents too, and no issues with MP, the UI, and the friends list sometimes gets jack.

It is, I tried sharing mine with a buddy and it wouldn't work for him.
I got the game with my 4% monthly coupon which brought it just under $32

Definitely recommend for those that are fans of squad based player vs AI. There are still a few crashes and glitches but logging in is no longer an issue. They expanded their servers to accommodate more players. This game is blast with friends so if enjoyed games such as left 4 dead then you might enjoy this. Two main factions are basically Terminator bots and bugs from Starship troopers.
