I think it could be because Patagonia has committed to using non-PFAS fabrics by 2025. That probably means they're going to be clearancing out all remaining PFAS-containing items this year.

This is not a new sale that was recently started. It's been ongoing for weeks now.

this one really is worse than usual - large collection of assorted mustard colors and 1970's patterns

No longer a unique and worthwhile brand. Everyone and their mother wears their crap now.
So? Is it a quality product?

Patagonia are one of the few outdoor companies that haven't tanked their quality to save a few bucks in recent years e.g. Northface

I agree, their quality is still top notch and they fit well. Sometimes it's worth it to spend a little more to get good fitting high quality clothes. I have many quarter zips, both Patagonia and others and none are as nice as these.

Because their products are made from recycled plastic bottles.

This is funny. So don't buy it even though it's good quality outdoor wear because everyone wears them? Come on.

surprised no one has mentioned the warranty here - specially in a SD thread!
one of the few lifetime warranties out there that's truly painless and lifetime.

I find patagonia's products can consistently be 10-20% more expensive than similarly well built items from Mtn Hardware/Outdoor Research/etc. Even when the specs and features are basically the same, I prefer to pay 10-20% more now for a warranty that I've come to trust for hassle-free repairs...5 years down the road when a zipper goes out/etc. I have not had that experience with any of the outdoor brands that clock a few % points lower on price.

Are these items the same sale price in store?
