The spouse/partner trick is unnecessary. Just sign up as though you are moving to your own address. I did it again yesterday and it worked the same as a year ago. Go to Xfinity.com (while NOT signed in) > Internet Deals. Enter address and it will recognize you have service there. Ignore the buttons for signing in or transferring service. Instead choose the option for new customer. Click through the plans and get your cart all tidy. Eventually you will come to a page asking you to either create an Xfinity ID or log into an existing; choose existing. It will even let you keep your autopay bank account the same. Shortly after submitting, you'll see a pending cancellation email and a thank you for your new order. Later (or in my case the next (this) morning), another email will give the cancellation date (several weeks out for me). Once the new modem arrives (if you chose one, which I did in order to get the $10 XFi complete), activate the new modem under the new account and it will automatically cancel your prior account at the same time. There will be some final prorations on the old account, and the new account will also have the opposite.

I'm guessing it's the same, age old trick with Comcast: if you don't get the answer you want from the rep you're talking to....try, try again.

(Totally guessing...) but it feels like the reps get bonused on the new accounts they sign up. So if you find the right rep, they'll have you cancel your current plan, then start on the new plan, and that rep would get the credit.

And don't ever feel like you're screwing over Comcast. I had Comcast Business for 1Gig for 2 years at $100 per month. The DAY that it ended, they jacked me up to $300 per month. I didn't notice it for 2 months. Once I did, I switched to regular Comcast for 900MB for $60. If I didn't cancel, they would have happily charged me $300/mo for my service I'm now getting for $60.

If they're offering it...you deserve it. Good luck!

Has anyone been successful getting this pricing applied to a current/active account?
Any tips/tricks?

If you're logged in and you click on the account link (the purple icon with the shape of a person on it) in the upper right corner, it will bring up a menu with "Billing" "Account and Identity" etc... items... somewhere in the middle, it should have a "switch account" link. If it isn't there, you can try this link after you login:

https://slickdeals.net/?adobeRef=c74e411ad68111eeace0aa402ec8805f0000&sdtid=16822319&sdfpid=852281&s...

That should bring up a list of all your accounts.
It just showed up there; it seems like accounts are being updated since new subscriptions are taken place. I will wait 1-2 days to fully settle and see how it goes. But, somehow, I got 30 usd/month instead of 25 usd. 5 usd discount for auto pay. IDK why.

It was always there. You may take their modem to cancel the limit but 1.2 tb is pretty generous.
I dont think generous is the right word here. There shouldnt be a data cap at all, its just ridiculous with the amount of data that can be consumed now-a-days.

When you login and click on the account icon in the upper right of the webpage, there should be an option to "switch account". You can go between your old and new account.

After a while, when you are sure the old account is cancelled, and you moved any bill credits over to your new account, you can disassociate the old account from your login.

As for the modem, I didn't have to do anything to move it between accounts. I just rebooted it once just in case.

Sorry for all the questions - but new to this 'move' thing...lol and yea, I don't get why they can make it easier, esp for a customer of 20+ years!!!!
BUT - why do you need to 'switch' between accounts??? or is that to just check to see which one is really active??? I will power cycle my modem tomorrow am, want to be able to surf and stream tv tonight! lol
Thanks for the help!!!

oh also - if there are any 'bill credits' on the old account, how do you switch them to 'new' account??
is all this better to do thru comcast.net or the app?

Can you keep your current Comcast email address if you do this method?

Yes, email account will remain active as it is mapped to the same xfinity ID before and after the account switch. I'm in a limbo right now where my old account shows an error when logged in, and the new account is not yet active, but my xfinity email address works fine (lotsa useless spam since it has never really seen use outside of a junk address). I've had the same xfinity ID for like 15 years through 3 different accounts.

I left my old account around just to make sure the new account was working properly and my rewards status still was platinum. I am glad I kept it around otherwise I wouldn't have known I had some bill credits on the old account due to the it being cancelled a few days before my billing cycle ended. Besides that, there really was nothing else I needed to do with my old account, everything just transferred to my new account seamlessly, except for my free Peacock Premium subscription (see one of my previous posts). Now, if you have Xfinity Mobile too, you may have to jump through a couple more hoops to make sure your mobile lines are associated with the new account.

As for transferring the bill credits, I had to call customer service to get the credits moved over to my new account. It was pretty painless, the customer service guy I got knew exactly what to do.

Currently have internet and mobile with xfinity. If I sign up for the $25/month as a new customer but login with my current ID, would that affect my xfinity mobile?

Yes, you need to link the mobile account with the new Xfinity account. It has been discussed in this thread. https://slickdeals.net/f/16822319-select-new-xfinity-internet-customers-400mbps-home-internet-50-mo-for-24-months?page=34#commentsHeader

thanks for all the info! I'll have to look tomorrow - but can't tell if we're still on the 'old' or 'new' account.. guess when I log in and do the 'switch accounts' it'll show 1 canceled maybe.. or maybe I have to wait the 3-5 days for the 'welcome package'....altho I didn't order any of their equipment..

What's the uplink rate on these plans? Don't have the new "fast" infrastructure in my area yet.

Do you have to pay an early termination fee if you do this while still in a contract?
