The spouse/partner trick is unnecessary. Just sign up as though you are moving to your own address. I did it again yesterday and it worked the same as a year ago. Go to Xfinity.com (while NOT signed in) > Internet Deals. Enter address and it will recognize you have service there. Ignore the buttons for signing in or transferring service. Instead choose the option for new customer. Click through the plans and get your cart all tidy. Eventually you will come to a page asking you to either create an Xfinity ID or log into an existing; choose existing. It will even let you keep your autopay bank account the same. Shortly after submitting, you'll see a pending cancellation email and a thank you for your new order. Later (or in my case the next (this) morning), another email will give the cancellation date (several weeks out for me). Once the new modem arrives (if you chose one, which I did in order to get the $10 XFi complete), activate the new modem under the new account and it will automatically cancel your prior account at the same time. There will be some final prorations on the old account, and the new account will also have the opposite.

I'm guessing it's the same, age old trick with Comcast: if you don't get the answer you want from the rep you're talking to....try, try again.

(Totally guessing...) but it feels like the reps get bonused on the new accounts they sign up. So if you find the right rep, they'll have you cancel your current plan, then start on the new plan, and that rep would get the credit.

And don't ever feel like you're screwing over Comcast. I had Comcast Business for 1Gig for 2 years at $100 per month. The DAY that it ended, they jacked me up to $300 per month. I didn't notice it for 2 months. Once I did, I switched to regular Comcast for 900MB for $60. If I didn't cancel, they would have happily charged me $300/mo for my service I'm now getting for $60.

If they're offering it...you deserve it. Good luck!

Has anyone been successful getting this pricing applied to a current/active account?
Any tips/tricks?

Thanks for the Info once again.

Got Modem today. Currently have (had) xfinity (old account, using my modem). Got new modem from them (by choice) activated it. Same price as old account $35. Mostly because i actually needed the unlimited data. After activation, called cust service to have old account cancelled. No issues at all for two accounts on same address. She confirmed old account was cancelled when new modem was activated (effective today). Up and running and good for another two years. Ohh and twice as fast as my old account. Speed is not an issue, the issue was the 1.2 TB cap which now wont be an issue.

Any trick to get the installation fee waived for a new home that never has Xfinity service?
I had mine waived on Monday. I simply asked. When I scheduled the appointment, the rep told me he would add a note to my account. Then, after the installation, I could call the billing department and ask for a waiver. I did it immediately after the tech left, and they credited it back to my account.

It says no term contract but is for 24 months? How does that work?
That mean price won't change for 24 months and if you want to cancel it before 24 months, you don't get charge for it early termination, which is good for customers.

Bizarre. So far so good. Modern arrived and they sent a text lobbying me to activate it right away, which I will probably do this weekend since the pending cancelation isn't for another week.
Wonder how that work with mobile, whether they can switch/attach mobile account with the new account.

ok, so if I call today and cancel on 2/29... I'll still have a few days of service??? and then when that stops, sign up on line as new customer under hubby name? only 'downside' I guess it we'd loose our 'diamond' reward status, but haven't used it anyway.
Do they make you set up an 'install'?
Yes. Still getting service after closing the account. It is over 1 month already.

Worst bait and switch company I've ever dealt with and I used them for years and years between my home and business. Switched to another company that finally came through my area with fiber and I'll never go back no matter how much they sweeten the deal. When I dropped their internet, my mobile bill was going to go up so I tried to switch providers. My fully paid for 5 year old iPhone from Best Buy became locked by them when joining their service. They refused to fix/unlock it saying it wasn't their problem and I had to buy a new phone to move to a BYOP service.

I don't understand what's going on here. I got mixed answers from xfinity call and chat representatives. thye keep telling me that my new account is 75 mbps and it is not 25 usd/month.They are not able to activate online and ACP credit cannot be transferred as well. Is that even correct?

Nice deal. I jumped on the previous deal in November for $30 a month. So why not play the same game again and sign up for $5 less. Done! Smilie
The order confirmation even shows higher download and upload speeds (300/20 instead of 200/10 before). I'll take it.

If you read the other thread, you already know about the incoming speed upgrades. But one guy posted that after his region got the speed increase and plan builder updated, Xfinity increased the new customer rates.

So yeah, YMMV if it happens in other regions, but if you're thinking about doing this, you're better off hedging your bets and getting it done now (before a plan builder update) since the odds of the price going down is pretty low and the upside is getting the speed upgrade before a potential price increase.

I don't think the pricing for 400Mbps/$50 would change....but the 200Mbps/$25 might go up $10.

In the fine print the BOGO is only for existing Xfinity customers of more than 90 days and the $45/month mobile discount only good for new Xfinity customers so can't do both
I was told by the rep that I could stack it(activate one line, then activate another). Order being delivered today. Let's see.

Does this $25 plan include 100Mbps upload, or the older 10/20Mbps ?

I have been able to get 100Mbps finally since a couple of months back with the recommended Hitron modem , and it's a gamechanger. Will not lose it for any discount..

I don't particularly care for download speeds if over 100Mbps.

Also of note, they have Xfinity 150 Mbps for $20 a month with a $100 prepaid card for new customers. The commercials are called : Hold Onto Your Eyeballs Fast: $20

While the offers page shows $25 a month, for me it lowered to $20 but you need your own modem and wifi router, bandwidth usage is capped, direct deposit from bank required to get the $20 otherwise $5 for CC/Debit

Same price for 12 month contract and no contract.

This might be a lifeline for people with ACP paying their bill as money is drying up and Congress has not renewed it just yet. expected to run out of money by April

I was paying $40/month for 200 Mbps plan which I did for 4 years and now it is $25/month for 300 Mbps ( 2-year non-contract).
Not much into gaming, hence never over the 1.2 Tb limit so far.
