The spouse/partner trick is unnecessary. Just sign up as though you are moving to your own address. I did it again yesterday and it worked the same as a year ago. Go to Xfinity.com (while NOT signed in) > Internet Deals. Enter address and it will recognize you have service there. Ignore the buttons for signing in or transferring service. Instead choose the option for new customer. Click through the plans and get your cart all tidy. Eventually you will come to a page asking you to either create an Xfinity ID or log into an existing; choose existing. It will even let you keep your autopay bank account the same. Shortly after submitting, you'll see a pending cancellation email and a thank you for your new order. Later (or in my case the next (this) morning), another email will give the cancellation date (several weeks out for me). Once the new modem arrives (if you chose one, which I did in order to get the $10 XFi complete), activate the new modem under the new account and it will automatically cancel your prior account at the same time. There will be some final prorations on the old account, and the new account will also have the opposite.

I'm guessing it's the same, age old trick with Comcast: if you don't get the answer you want from the rep you're talking to....try, try again.

(Totally guessing...) but it feels like the reps get bonused on the new accounts they sign up. So if you find the right rep, they'll have you cancel your current plan, then start on the new plan, and that rep would get the credit.

And don't ever feel like you're screwing over Comcast. I had Comcast Business for 1Gig for 2 years at $100 per month. The DAY that it ended, they jacked me up to $300 per month. I didn't notice it for 2 months. Once I did, I switched to regular Comcast for 900MB for $60. If I didn't cancel, they would have happily charged me $300/mo for my service I'm now getting for $60.

If they're offering it...you deserve it. Good luck!

Has anyone been successful getting this pricing applied to a current/active account?
Any tips/tricks?

I can't get past them wanting to do an install date and it won't let me do a self install since I have all the equipment already. I'm trying t just replicate my current plan (TV, Internet, Phone, Cable Card) at a cheaper cost and it looks like it will work but no self install.

Just set up the date and then chat with customer service a few minutes later and ask them to cancel the install and let you do self install.

I'm midway thru a one year contract. Are there any fees if I change to the same plan (connect more) but at a cheaper monthly cost per this way of signing up? Would not want it to be considered ealry termination by canceling/changing current plan...

Thank you, will try this next time. When I call Retention every year, they would only give me a promo rate for a speed higher than what I have. So now I'm up to the 1G plan, but I need no where near that speed for regular use.

Great find. I was already on $30 plan that gave me 300/10 speed but was able to change it to $25 for better upload speed (300/100). I also went to store for gateway pickup and was able to request for upgraded hardware. I have now XB8 with Wi-Fi 6E capable router/modem that is included in the price.

$15 for 'Getting Started Kit Delivery'?
Pickup from store is free. They might ship you XB6 which is an older device, select in store pick up and ask them for XB8.

Thanks to you all I took my Xfinity internet+streaming plan from $170 down to $55/mo for 24 months with free modem (I never really used the streaming I am subscribed to so many apps via Roku that I love). That $170 was ridiculous. I just signed up as a new customer moving to my same address and my other Xfinity account was cancelled. I also cancelled Xfinity Mobile (an additional $100 a mo.) and ported both numbers to US Mobile. I could have went with the $25/mo plan but I wanted to lock in a decent speed for a couple of years and the free modem sold me. 12 month deals are over so fast and I didn't want to have to revisit this scenario next March.

Thanks for this workaround. I indicated I had my own equipment and declined everything during checkout, but it appears they are shipping me the "getting started kit". Is this something they will be charging me for and does anyone know if contacting them can cancel this shipment as I don't need whatever they're sending me?

mtp60 comment was gold! No need to create a new account or spouses to switch accounts. You can use your own account to do this. Another interesting thing was that originally I saw the 200/400 mbps plans. But when I used VPN on my work laptop and tried, it gave me the same price for 250/500 mbps plans! If folks have VPN I'd recommend connecting on that and trying to see if you get a better deal.

So I did this and worked all the way until submit page and when I did hit submit then it took me to home page. I am not sure if the deal is confirmed would I get emails in regards to that ? Does it take time to process ? I still see my old plan in account . Thank you.

I received emails confirming it within an hour or so maybe less. Is still shows my old plan when I see charges pending at the end of the month so hopefully that sorts itself out soon or I will have to contact them

May I ask how did u switch? I'm currently @$35 for two years and I don't see pick up option when I tried the trick mentioned previously by signing up again directly.
