The spouse/partner trick is unnecessary. Just sign up as though you are moving to your own address. I did it again yesterday and it worked the same as a year ago. Go to Xfinity.com (while NOT signed in) > Internet Deals. Enter address and it will recognize you have service there. Ignore the buttons for signing in or transferring service. Instead choose the option for new customer. Click through the plans and get your cart all tidy. Eventually you will come to a page asking you to either create an Xfinity ID or log into an existing; choose existing. It will even let you keep your autopay bank account the same. Shortly after submitting, you'll see a pending cancellation email and a thank you for your new order. Later (or in my case the next (this) morning), another email will give the cancellation date (several weeks out for me). Once the new modem arrives (if you chose one, which I did in order to get the $10 XFi complete), activate the new modem under the new account and it will automatically cancel your prior account at the same time. There will be some final prorations on the old account, and the new account will also have the opposite.

I'm guessing it's the same, age old trick with Comcast: if you don't get the answer you want from the rep you're talking to....try, try again.

(Totally guessing...) but it feels like the reps get bonused on the new accounts they sign up. So if you find the right rep, they'll have you cancel your current plan, then start on the new plan, and that rep would get the credit.

And don't ever feel like you're screwing over Comcast. I had Comcast Business for 1Gig for 2 years at $100 per month. The DAY that it ended, they jacked me up to $300 per month. I didn't notice it for 2 months. Once I did, I switched to regular Comcast for 900MB for $60. If I didn't cancel, they would have happily charged me $300/mo for my service I'm now getting for $60.

If they're offering it...you deserve it. Good luck!

Has anyone been successful getting this pricing applied to a current/active account?
Any tips/tricks?

Does the open new account/cancel existing account trick work if you are under contract? Does account cancellation trigger early termination fee?

Me too. Self install $15 for shipping the kit and there is no pick up option
That is because probably you are selecting "Yes, add an xFi Gateway for $0.00/mo for 24 months*". It did that to me too and it showed a $15 installation fee/kit charge. But once I selected the "No, I'll use my own modem and router", it shows $0 for self install.

This is awesome. Thanks. Would this work to get new member price if I want to signup at an additional home?

Thanks for this workaround. I indicated I had my own equipment and declined everything during checkout, but it appears they are shipping me the "getting started kit". Is this something they will be charging me for and does anyone know if contacting them can cancel this shipment as I don't need whatever they're sending me?
I'm in the same boat and received one Comcast coaxial cable in the mail! 😂

I received the same coaxial cable. Now what do we do to activate the new one and deactivate the old one?

May I ask how did u switch? I'm currently @$35 for two years and I don't see pick up option when I tried the trick mentioned previously by signing up again directly.
i did not do anything special. I just opened xfinity.com, clicked on "Build my plan", entered address and logged in with my existing account. I was able to see that "Connect more" plan had 2 options, one with $30 (current plan i was in) and another one that said -$5.
I am guessing, this is location-based promotion because some folks from different zip code did not find this cheaper plan.

You usually have to wait for old service to stop. It's already been a week for me. I may have to call them to send through modem/service deactivation otherwise you cannot start new service with the same BYOD modem

Kudos to mtp60 for writing the post.
I had multiple issues trying to place a new order for the same address with the same account and receive xFI complete /unlimited internet instead of my own equipment - the xfinity website is a mess.

Placed the order over the weekend, got an email about a new account linked in but no confirmation order. Contacted support through chat the next day, got confirmation the order went through. The next day since I had no email or tracking contacted chat to be told there's no order..
So I placed it again and this time I did get an order confirmation plus one for cancellation.

I called in to see double check if I can pick the modem locally and check if I can get an XB8 but the agent got stuck and confused on why I have a cancellation order.
Ended the call early and will wait for kit first to make sure the order goes through.

I got USPS mail from Xfinity about this same $25/month offer. And it says up to 5 devices connection. Is this restriction true?

The starting kit sent by mail contains XB6.
XB8 is available for pickup but one has to call in/use live chat.
For me at least, using XB8 hasn't improve the upload speed compared to the trusty Arris 8200; it's more or less the same.

to bypass early termination fee you need change to non-contract plan then can cancel day after

After talking to support, they upgraded remotely the firmware on the modem and after a restart the upload speed has improved significantly.
I got lucky today with Xfinity support!

Does it seem like this will keep your Rewards status as Diamond etc. same, or does it reset. it? I managed to get to Diamond, and there is some benefit to keeping the "status" .. I'd think if you use the same ID to login it should retain the longevity/status , but good to know for sure..

Did the deal change? I now see only $25 for 1 year, not 2 years.
