The service is amazing for me. I've been using them for years. The AT&T network is fast and does not disappoint. I've used Boost every now and then, but received horrible coverage and felt ATT via Red Pocket is the better service. YMMV

They have the option to get T-Mobile or Verizon if desired but I'm very comfortable with the ATT coverage.

Good find OP! I've used Red Pocket in the past and had great service. Probably a bad day to post anything backed by AT&T, but overall I think people will be happy with it.

The Infimoble deal on eBay for $113.40 is a better deal.

Previously had Tmobile- horrible coverage - even had problems along interstates. No coverage in the West - frequently poor South. ATT coverage has been great. Hotspot works without additional fees. Free international calls. Negatives - speed much lower that claimed - both 5G on the phone and hotspot but I get in the range of 10- 15 MB- average ( about 5 - 10 hotspot) and it is plenty enough for me. No international roaming. Value for the money 5 because it is very reliable

Have been using Red Pocket on two lines since 2017. But will most likely jump ship after current services end because
  • WIFI calling only works domestically (can't even get Canada to work) and the problem is not on T-Mobile or AT&T side.
  • They dropped the human chat support.
  • Still unable to make international call on one line even after 3 long phone calls.
  • The sales for existing customer are limited and unpredictable.
  • Even the sale price is not necessary competitive.
  • You almost always have to tweak APN to get data/MMS to work.

Tax for me (NY), but no fees like if you buy directly from RP.

I got the prepaid ATT unlimited call/text 16gb yearly plan for $300, went to the dollar store for the one time 20% off coupon for $300 prepaid card. For me it was $240 with $1.40 911/tax service fee. I ended up using a 2nd number to add a 2nd year.

Brand new MVNO with 22 eBay feedback. Not sure if buying a year of service is great idea. 🤣.

Can you still get SIMs where you pay $ for x-min of time and it's good until it's used up? (Instead of paying monthly). What do you call this type of plan?

I have bought red pocket plans from ebay twice. Both times, they shipped a sim with no service. After activation contacted customer service and was told they are not supporting plans purchased from eBay and I need to contact eBay customer support. Huge pain in the back, not worth it.

Red pocket does not charge, service tax is included with this price. You only pay for sales tax which is charged by ebay.

If you buy the plan directly from Red Pocket, they will add service taxes which is way more than just paying ebay the state sales tax.

It's called pay as you go

They don't offer that.

Service sucks with these guys, switched to US mobile. Was fine the first year or so, then both the lines I had with them had trouble. One would never get voicemail notifications and not being able to receive calls, the other phone had intermittent trouble making calls. Chatted with CS for a week to fix it and eventually ported out because it was going nowhere. After switching all problems went away.

I've been on red pocket for a couple of months and I have regretted it, now I'm locked for a whole year until I can get my phones unlocked.

The main issue is I get frequent, almost daily disconnects from the network, the only way to fix this is restarting the phone, I've had multiple chats with customer support trying to get this fixed with no improvements, you might think it's not too bad having to restart your phone every day... but it gets tiring.

Also in my area data prioritization seems to be noticeable as compared to other providers, I frequently experience subpar service or data, it's not super bad but definitely noticeable.

I'd recommend anyone looking at this deal to look for a different provider, I've tried AT&T prepaid and it was a world of difference even though it's the same network, also similar price.

I bought around 15 times from them via ebay throughout the years. Never an issue. You are expecting the sim card to work as a plug and play. With this purchase, you have to use an activation code emailed to your ebay email address. That's why you're having trouble. The code must be used during the activation process.

I lost a couple of codes and contacted them via ebay to resend, and they did.

Once, I needed to change my plan into more data and pay the difference, and I contacted them via ebay as well and they did that after invoicing me the difference.

Just message them via ebay instead of messaging them via the Red Pocket website.
