You will be charged $150 today and on the backend a credit for that amount will be placed on your SIM.

When you activate, the SIM uses its $150 credit to purchase 1 year of service at the discounted rate of $150.

If you fail to activate in the time frame, which is anywhere from 3-6 months, they will charge you full price (an additional $150) and add it to the SIM cards balance for when/if you ever activate it.

No matter what, you are purchasing 1 year of service and the SIM card they send will forever have 1 year of prepaid service sitting on it. Whether you activate in 1 day or 3 years it will still work, the only difference is whether you pay $150 or $300 for that SIM.
I ported out a few weeks back. It took about 2 hours. I had to call in and get the account and pin first. It took a few redirects and waits, and attempts by them to get me to stay. But this took about 30-45 mins. Then I had to call again as during thr port out process, they don't automatically approve it. It again took a few redirects and waiting and upsell and finally was able to port out.
Boost Mobile customer service is the worst. The first 2 layers of customer service cannot speak freely or answer your questions. They are only allowed to respond with a few scripted sentences. Keep asking for a manager or supervisor and pray you don't disconnect during the 45 minute wait.

Wasted so much time and energy when I bit on a Slick Deal last year and they overcharged me $180 which took 10+ calls and 2 months to get back (They initially issued it as credit to my account and I had to fight even more to get it back to my card)

The fine print just below the total in the cart says 30 days. But it also says you will be charged full price of the MSRP of the phone -- which this deal does not even include.

When I got the iPhone 12 deal last year, I purchased in late March and activated in mid May without any problems. I did receive several "urgent" and "final reminder" emails telling me to activate.

By offering aggressive promotions like this, they can attract new customers quickly and disrupt the pricing models of established carriers. That is, Boost Mobile is more than just a MVNO, they if anything, are a tool for Dish to establish their brand and to meet their buildout obligations to the US Government for all the spectrum their own.

Since Dish wants to establish itself as a major player across the entire wireless market, they need customers to use their core network. That network at the moment is even smaller than the old Sprint network, thus attracting subscribers with discounted plans allows them to test their network capacity, identify potential issues, and gain valuable usage data that informs their network expansion. No one would want to use a service that did not work away from their home city, or as I remember, cost prohibited away from home.

Related, all carriers collect vast amounts of data on customer usage patterns, and a lot of this is held as preparatory and used as a business advantage. Even on promotional plans, Dish gains valuable insights into how people use their phones, which can help them tailor future plans and services. They are, after all, try to create the 'big four' vs the current big three, so like I said, this is more than trying to compete with lost-cost MVNOs.

I suspect that Dish is getting bulk services from T-Mobile and AT&T at a good discount since they loaned spectrum to AT&T and T-Mobile for free during the COVID-19 pandemic. Remote work, telemedicine, e-commerce and remote schooling put a larger load on those networks. They have agreements to use (at a cost) T-Mobile's network until 2027 and AT&T's until 2031.

By those dates, Dish's raw 'owned' spectrum will be worth around 100 billion dollars. Sure, they need review, thirsty, not so sure.
That's some good info. Do you work in the industry? You sound like you could be a telecom analyst

Gotta cancel before they charge you the full price in a year.
Or use a virtual card number with a one-time-use limit, which anyone can get at privacy.com.

The only thing I have read about boost is, when you are done with them. It can be difficult to port out. Not sure if they made that process easier now.
This is why I use Google Voice - none of that porting BS. Just get a new number at sign-up, and tell the app to use it for your calls (and optionally delete the old number if you're done with it).

Known issue on the Boost site is ad-blockers breaking the ability to submit an email address for validation. Try disabling your ad-blocker or using a different browser.

I do not know how long Boost allows before activation when porting in.

Like the bundled deal for a week ago, I expect this offer be good for only a limited time. My guess this deal expires midnight Monday morning.
I'm existing boost mobile customer but want to hop onto another network and come back after a month but BUY the plan now.
All it takes 45 days of time return to boost and activate this $150 plan. So, will this work for me?

If yes, what's the cheapest network available for a month to hop into with some great data...
Please suggest

That is true if you select to get a new number. If you tell them you're going to port it doesn't activate until later - and when you do go to activate you can select to get a new number then. ie, selecting port initially doesn't force you to port a number.
Do you actually have to enter in your porting information?

Can anyone say what happens after 35gigs a month? Currently on mint and after you use your data for the month the internet may as well be dead. Previously on metro when you used your data it did not slow down that much . My mint plan is over in may i'm considering buying this today it's a great deal however I often use more than 35 gigs a month. If I activated today got a new number can I change my boost number in may and port my current number to boost in may ?

You can actually port your old boost account to a new one. I've been doing that with 3 month sims. The only hassle is calling to get the pin.

New customers only. How long until you can be a new customer? I used them before, about a year and half ago.
