It's worth mentioning that Dell pricing deals change every Monday.
This "deal" should still be valid--if it were valid yesterday--through the weekend.
Anyway, that's the best day to look, although I have no idea what time on Mondays.
1) Find all the configurations you want and add them to your cart. You can login every Monday to check the prices easily. At one point I had 12 laptops in my cart
2) If you have a lot of extra money for a PC, spend the money on their extra support--the level where they have to come to your home to fix it.
Support in the industry ranges from garbage to mediocre, but Dell's is the best by far.
2a) I also HIGHLY recommend this if you live outside the US or travel a LOT and might need to get it fixed on the fly.
[I got my mainboard replaced for "free" in Mexico in 90 minutes at my location--90 min. does not include troubleshooting, just the replacement. This would have been incredibly expensive and time-consuming if done on my own. Also reliability would be questionable, as the work wouldn't be warrantied.]
2b) I guess you know that all laptops in 2024 have the processing components soldered into the mainboard. Meaning that if one part breaks you have to replace all three.
This is how the warranty easily pays for itself, if you have one failure.
2c) Also the convenience of them coming to your home and getting in done in a couple hours rather than losing your PC for days sending it in to a servicing facility. This could be quite important if it's crucial for your work.
This is far less important for desktops [plus no one travels with desktops] and I wouldn't really make that recommendation for one. (Although Dell might even solder those, I have no idea.)
Make sure you select the exact the same config, including the options for windows and keyboards. I thought the same and figured out later.
