Last time I bought them the Ladda batteries were manufactured in Japan (and it's generally at the same plant that makes Eneloops). If you need higher capacity batteries this one is available for only $2 more: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/sten...s49419647/

I was/am planning to buy some soon. This looked like a deal until I clicked the links. Only a dollar off the regular price per the Ikea website - at least for my local Ikea. Cost for charger and batteries purchased separately is about the same as this deal. I like them. Thanks for posting.
I agree this isn't a smoking hot deal or anything, but these Ladda batteries are a lot cheaper (even at regular price) than what you'd typically pay for Eneloops!
Has anyone ever had issues charging the LADDA batteries in the envelope chargers or vice versa?
All AA battery chargers stop charging once the battery reaches 1.5 volts. AA has been around for over a century. Seems like a solved problem at this point...
Good price, I paid about $22 for a comparable set (2000mah) made by Energizer. Ikea branded electronics make me nervous though, wonder if the charger meets any certifications?

Word on the street is that these are not rebranded Eneloops anymore, for quite some time now.
That IKEA is going so far out of its way to not disclose the country of origin in any of the descriptions, specs, or even show it in any of the photos definitely made me wonder if they've switched to the cheap Chinese rechargeables (the way Amazon Basics did), and are just coasting on their rep.
I have some older Laddas that were made in Japan and they perform identically to my Eneloops. These I wouldn't buy unless I could confirm they were made in Japan.

I bought AA and AAA Laddas in September and both are clearly labeled "Made in Japan", so if they've changed, it has been very recently.
These are 1000 charge cycles if anyone wonders, the higher capacity is 500 charge cycles.
I rather buy Eneloop with 2100 charge cycles...
I have my first rechargeables I got 11 years ago from Costco and were Eneloop blue/green labels and I don't think those advertised this much charges, sure the old needs to replace earlier but its not very noticeable unless used on something that drains it super fast like electric toothbrushes.
EBay, easily get 24 tenergy low discharge AAs 2000 mAh $30~ (add your own dirt cheap slow charger under $5).
So definitely a very poor deal unless you're gung ho on eneloops. Even talking early failure of cheap alternatives, you can kill a ton of Tenergies for the same 4AA set as this.
Thanks for the link -- it says both of the ones that I listed have batteries made in Japan (at the same plant that make Eneloops).

In my experience, Tenergy batteries made in china are notably inferior to those made in Japan (like the Laddas). I would much rather spend $24 for 12 Ladda AAs that will last a decade than spend $30 for 24 junk china Tenergy AAs that will only last a few years (and perform worse during that time).

But this deal only nets 4 AAs.
