I received my S&S tuna shipment yesterday. Bumble Bee "Premium" Solid White Albacore (Low Sodium), Starkist Solid White Albacore, Bumble Bee Solid White Albacore, and Bumble Bee Chunk Light.

A few personal observations:
- The regular Bumble Bee Albacore looks pretty much the same as the Premium.
- The Bumble Bee Premium Low Sodium is significantly less salty in flavor, and I like that.
- The Starkist has a more liquid broth. It tastes "normal" (Bumble Bee's broth is too strong IMO, the tuna almost tastes like chicken). I also think the Starkist looks and tastes best.
- The regular Bumble Bee Albacore has an almost gel-like liquid, but it does strain out.
- The Bumble Bee Chunk Light tuna is rather "pink" and looks pretty broken up/mushy.
- All of the Albacore cans had more tuna that the Chunk Light after draining/squeezing.

All of my cans are 2026 or later, so not bad at all.

So there is no misunderstanding this version of Bumblebee Chunk Lite is NOT the same as Starkist "Chunk Lite" and other brands. It is a lower grade. This is less "tuna meat" than a watery "tuna mush". It's one step above a tuna puree. It's the last grade in processing. Other than maybe tuna casserole it's not going to be that great in recipes where where you need some integrity to the tuna meat.

Nothing beats Aldi canned tuna. 33g of protein in an Aldi can compared to 22g in this watered down garbage.

I have been on a tuna kick lately and would not buy Bumble Bee again as it's lower grade. When I push the lid to squeeze out the water there's a lot of pink goop/slime that comes out. I don't have this problem with Starkist or Chicken of the Sea or higher grades of tuna you can get at Costco.

y'all are spending too much, paid half this just a month ago:

Ordered on January 20, 2024
Item(s) Subtotal:$35.29
Subscribe & Save:-$5.29
Your Coupon Savings:-$14.12
Total before tax:$15.88

this is not quality tuna, you should not be paying more than 50 cents a can for it

it is the slurry leftover at the factory, they figured out they can sell it
