I recently went with one of the deals from Adorama but it's probably worth checking out the Open Box options. Open Box - Good condition is available at my local Best Buy for $299 which I'd probably be jumping on if I hadn't just grabbed something else.

Saw $322 excellent condition ones as well. YMMV depending on where you are.

Almost identical to the TX-NR6050, which you can find on here for $299 new at Adorama
And the TX-NR7100 is far superior (Dirac Live) for just $75 more at Adorama.

I see $640 for the TX-NR7100 on Adorama. Can you provide a link?

Yes; link and thread on SD:

https://slickdeals.net/f/17286532-onkyo-tx-nr7100-9-2-channel-8k-4k-network-a-v-receiver-549-free-shipping

Note that it seems you have to use an adorama link with the "emailprice=t" in it (like is on the SD post above) to get the $550 price. If you just go to adorama and search for it, it gives the $640 price.

Thanks! I just ordered the Denon S760H from Costco, but I'm not sure yet what I want. My Yamaha TSR700 is failing and I'm looking for a replacement.

I have Onkyo 696. Is this worth the upgrade just for 4k/120 and hdr10+ ?? Everything else seems to be similar..

If I can get it for around 300,I'll bite...if not then it might be pioneer lx305 or the Onkyo 7100...might do some research between the two as for the most part both seem to be quite similar... anyone has experience with the pioneer and or Onkyo?

I had the same exact Yamaha AVR and bought the Onkyo 7100 and have zero complaints so far. PlayStation five works flawlessly and in my opinion has greater picture quality then plugging it directly into my TV with zero lag.

Thanks, that's good to hear. I've read so many glowing reviews about dirac that I'm leaning towards the Onkyo 7100, but I don't need 9 channels so I'm trying to decide whether it's worth the extra $200 and going through Adorama instead of Costco.

I think your warranty would be better but that's about it I'm only running a 5.1.2 system currently and figured if I ever wanted to expand I could and build an impressive system later down the road, I think it's better to have then have not and future proof yourself. I would also look the wattage between the two, the onkyo is on par with the Yamaha and I had a Denon that was really underpowered for my system and made me regret ever buying it and Now will just collect dust when I move the Yamaha to my bedroom.

I would be careful buying an unknown brand like this. It sounds like a yoghurt and looks like a sofa. I've seen better deals in Loughborough.

Yeah I went with the 7100 as I was needing an HDMI 2.1 receiver. Felt like having the extra features available was worth it, especially at 549.

I went with the Pioneer Elite LX305 for 519 as it has more features and channels than the Onkyo does.
