About this item:
  • Ultra‑Comfortable: The soft, split‑leather earpads help prevent fatigue and the large size will fit comfortably around almost any set of ears. The headphones provide just enough isolation for you to easily slip away from the world and enjoy the world as your music makes it.
  • Well Balanced: The 50mm drivers are 25% larger than most headphone drivers, which helps them produce a solid 15Hz ~ 25kHz frequency response, with deep and rich bass, clean and sparkly highs, and expressive vocals.
  • Great Sound: Life is too short for audio products that don't sound great! We believe that the whole point of listening to music is to hear it as the artist intended. Our engineers and audio experts have spent countless hours listening to and comparing various headphones until we were satisfied we had found models that fit our demanding standards.

Sound is good, has a fun V-shaped signature, very good sub-bass. The pads are indeed garbage, the main mod everyone does is swap them with brainwavz xl pads(currently on sale). I've tried the pleather and sheepskin leather, the pleather has the better sound and fit. The cable is really long so the other mod if you choose is to replace the cable with a 3.5mm plug. I'd recommend an amp to power them otherwise you'll feel max volume isn't very loud.

Sound quality is good but the pads are really cheap and uncomfortable.

You don't need to pay $20+ for Brainwavz pads.
Any 105mm earpads will work.
You can find them on aliexpress under $5, and on ebay under $10.

For work headphones these are absolutely ideal.
The mild hype means they sound better at low volumes, they're closed back so they don't leak too much sound, and they're not expensive enough to get stolen.
For $15 + another $5-10 for after market pads, they're an absolute no-brainer.
Nothing sounds better until you pay over $50, and I've listened to plenty of $70-120 headphones from Big German Brands that are worse and more fatiguing.

Repped for a slick deal on a great product.

These are pretty great bang for buck but yeah get the brainwavz, they are pricey but so God damn comfortable...worth it, together this pair punches above its weight for fun sound, great for movies/games with lots of bass or explosions imo. Pretty good for hip hop also or any bassy music.

Go buy yourself a pair of IEM's on Amazon instead. Moondrop Chu 2 for $18, many more options in the $25 price range.

The SR850s have extraordinary stereo imaging for the price, at the cost of a harsh treble spike. They feel a lot like a cheaper Beyerdynamic DT990. Open back, great stereo imaging, but a treble spike that's way worse than the Beyers. Back when they were $30 they were an insane deal, but at $50 they're not a slam dunk anymore.

The Monoprice feel a lot like a cheaper ATH-50x. (Yes, they look like AKGs, but they don't sound like AKGs.) Closed back, good bass extension, even more V-shape than the 50x, not muddy despite the extra bass, but absolutely terrible stock earpads.

I prefer the Monoprice with upgraded earpads. They're less accurate and detailed, but they sound better in most situations and with most types of music. At $15 there's no reason not to try them. They sound fine with the stock earpads, they're just uncomfortable. If you like the way they sound you can invest another $5-25 in earpads.
