tl;dr: It's not as good as regular Tide. Tide Simply contains fewer enzymes, odor removers, process aids, and sud reducers.

Testing shows its a lower tier dollar store level detergent.
It only test marginally better than Xtra, a dollar store detergent.

Best bang for the buck is Costco's Kirkland detergant that test as well as Persil and good Tide.

Regular Tide works great at cleaning, but it ultimately destroys clothing at an alarming rate, especially wool.
