According to measured tests, your fears are well founded: "Orange" Tide typically ranks near the top of all tests; "Yellow" Tide near the bottom.

This product is meant to get people with reduced spending to put the Tide logo in their homes. If their spending increases, they'll want "the real Tide" and they'll get a totally different clean .
So 70 cents cheaper than normal constitutes a 'slickdeal' ? Now I remember why I don't use this site

I never buy these cheaper versions of Tide because I'm always afraid they will be awful. This was pretty cheap after promo and 15% S&S - $10.48 including 7% tax. I'll alternate loads of this with regular Tide or Persil and it should be fine.

I also would avoid simply tide. It was made to compete with dollar store detergent. It would have to be less than half price to be worth it. Using half the amount of normal tide versus this washes better

Good to know - thanks for the info!

This deal was cheap enough that I still think it may be worth it to alternate with better detergents. It still came out 26% cheaper per load than even the best deal I recently found on regular Tide at BJ's. Plus, my clothes don't even get that dirty, so I think it will be good for me.

Just know that even with clothes that are not that dirty, the amount required for the same cleaning power of simply tide vs regular tide (or other better detergents) is close to double.

It requires close to twice the amount of detergent for the same cleaning effectiveness, so you are not saving 26% per load

The worst my clothes regularly see is sweat from working out. Can't this cheaper version handle that just fine without using twice as much? I feel like I'm not staining my clothes like the Tide commercials say I am and don't really need the full power of Tide.

Does anyone know if these leave a stain? I noticed the blue color in the liquid detergents concentrate on a park of the clothing and it gets stained. Which is the opposite of what everyone wants lol. Also could have to do with the apartment washing machines? Or the way the clothes are bring washed?

I use this regularly and when drying the clothes use snuggle blue sparkle dryer sheets and it smells pretty damn clean to me. I don't use anymore detergent then I would any other brand and feel my clothes always come out smelling so fresh and so clean. Results may depend on washer though.

I think most machines recommend putting the detergent into the water first before clothes are in the washer. I've never had an issue with the blue tint, even with pouring it in while clothes are inside.

I've had this happen in my home washing machine. Dawn also will dye things blue if not diluted. It's almost as stupid as the children's anti-emetic I bought once that had bright red dye. We are adults and everything doesn't have to be crayon colors. Well, my toddler was not an adult but let's just say the anti-emetic wasn't effective and we got red carpet stains.

Don't need to be afraid, Simple Tide is awful. It test worse than A&H, Purex, All, etc... yet sometimes cost more.

Best bang for the buck is Costcos Kirkland detergent. If you do not have costco then All, A&H oxi, and Purex Oxi are all decent mid-tier brands.
