Rockauto always has great prices on bosch oil filter. I always buy a few when buying something from Rock auto to make shipping more cost effective..these are going for $3.44 at Rock auto... shipping kills the deal. But if you are buying any other part for your vehicle adding a few filters will add a bit extra to the filter making it sometimes even cheaper than Amazon.

Ehhh.. nothing premium about it. Same level as any $4-5 filter, not the $12 synthetic ones. Not saying it's bad, but it's definitely not "buy now, think later"

My bad, maybe I didn't explain myself correctly. I updated my post above.

Love or hate FRAM but I like their dipped or molded in grip textured filters. Any recommendations on oil wrenches or gadgets to remove oil filters that don't have the grippy texture on them? I've been meaning to buy a oil filter wrench set but I'm cheap. Just curious what ya'll use to remove your filters.

By the way, Honda and Toyota sell their OEM filters at Wal-Mart. Atleast mine does. I think I've seen a few OEM Chevrolet and FORD filters too. Just a FYI.
Schwaben (euros) and MotivX (asian) make excellent machined oil filter sockets if you have a model with the right number of flutes and diameter.
I've damn near broken fingers/hands using some of the ill fitting stamped sockets, or rubber coated pliers, or the strap wrenches.

I'm tempted to use Callahan, but there's no guarantee on the box!

Dude, +1 for MotivX! I've bought and used their:

-Drain tool (silicone tube + device that opens the drain valve)
-Oil filter socket
-Threaded funnel

on my 2011 GS 350. Makes oil changes SO clean. The drain tool drains the filter cartridge assembly, so that when you undo the bottom it hardly drips AT ALL. Between that, and using a Fumoto drain valve --> zero f*cking mess.

And the threaded funnel was a bit "extra", BUT in the case of the 2GR-FSE, there's a little baffle right inside the oil fill hole. So having the threaded funnel is fantastic. You can prop a 1qt or 5qt container in the funnel and let it sit there and drain indefinitely.

Also the filter socket is made in USA (drain tool + hose made in Taiwan, I believe). I wish they made more things, because I'd buy them laugh out loud.
