This stuff is strong. Make sure to dilute it as mentioned on the label. I've also used this straight for cleaning tires. It does a great job at removing tire blooming.

Would definitely not use this on a client's vehicle. There are infinite other options out there that are safer and easier to use. Sure they cost twice as much but I'm sure everyone here thinks their time and car is worth more than $15...
lol, wut? this is a staple in the detailing business. Why on earth would you not use it in a client's vehicle? Sure, some dumbass might not read the label and pour it on undiluted, or spray their headliner til it's dripping… but they're clearly people who need products that handhold.

I pulled the trigger on this item, but I am a bit concerned, the picture shows the jug only about 90% full, I hope I get a full jug.
You do know the container it's in holds more than 1 gallon, right?

Can you name one that is safer and easier and offer an explanation why?

I was thinking of getting this to clean my Tuxmats and trim on the door sills, but then I read the following review from last month:
Quote :
I serviced a clients vehicle as I have countless times over the years and very familiar with dilution ratios and used this product on an interior detail of a clients car I got a call a week later with a video showing me all the white gassing stains all over the plastics that mineralized all over the vehicle even though I diluted the product heavily. In the end I had a pissed off client had to refund them over $300 lost 12 hours worth of my time between the initial service and having to go back twice to do everything I could to reverse the affects. Cost me another $150 in products to correct the issue as best as possible. I am beyond mad and have used meguiars for years. I Will no longer be using or purchasing meguiars products. This seems to be a common problem with their APC cleaner and is totally unacceptable

Is this for the interior upholstery, cushions, carpeted floor of cars? I need a shampoo, stain remover, and odor eliminator to clean interior of my car. I have a little green carpet cleaner and a wet/dry shop vac.

It's not a staple in the detailing business at all. It leaves behind residue and typically overkill and sometimes dangerous for interior surfaces. ONR is a staple in the detailing business, P&S Xpress Interior is a staple in the detailing business. This stuff is probably okay for cleaning engine bays and tires, but most professional detailers would want an APC that can be used on any surface, like Koch Chemie Greenstar.

Corrosive to some metal, leaves residue, decolors leather.

Koch Chemi Greenstar is the only APC I would trust on an entire vehicle. I've never had to use an APC on the interior though, I use it for pre wash, and engine cleaning.

Any pros out there that can recommend a "safe ish" replacement for Tetrachloroethylene?

Still have some cans from my grandad that I'm clinging to for when I really need a stain out - haven't found a good alternative that isn't carcinogenic.

Thank you. I will check it out. A few things I noted, while FDC puts out a lot of information, I've never really found his content that helpful. For example in this case, Meg's states that APC "might" be corrosive and he can't figure that out. It is because it _could_ be used at 100% on metal and in that case it can be corrosive over long periods of time. However, it should not be used in this manner on metal. So in the US Megs need to say that it could be corrosive. he also complains that it does not give clear instructions, like recommending to wear gloves. This is because it's not marketed to the consumer market who might have that question. It is for professionals that already know this stuff.

I'll need to take a look at GS at some point. However, I see APC as a stronger APC. Something that can clean an interior and degrease as well. GS appears to be a light cleaner... but (as you mentioned) more safe. I've used APC on many different interiors without any issues. Of course, I've diluted it correctly. I've also been able to use it for heavy work, such as tires and wheels (exteriors). One could argue that it might be a better all around cleaner then GS. However, the user needs to be more mindfull about its use.

The APC Cleaner needs to be diluted before use, it also doesn't have any UV protectant. APCs are meant to strip away the grease and grime and you have to reapply with a Protectant or a UV + Dressing. Whereas Quick Interior Detailer is a ready to use and has a UV protectant in it already.
