Holding out for the 650… almost would buy this, but got enough painting projects and the pink would need to be removed/painted
That's significantly more expensive!

Got my son the blue one for Christmas.
Great present for a 7 year old. Rides it all the time.
Charges overnight and gets a ride time of about 30 minutes.

IATA rules that a max of 2x12V batteries can be carried in the cabin. I got this for my son, removed the batteries and sent it in the hold, carried the batteries onboard
More than that and you're automatically the asshole?

We purchased this for our 8 year old for Christmas this year. It's almost too small for him. I agree with the 6-9 age range.

I looked through the description and didn't see it.

Anyone who has this--does the throttle have a limiter on it so a little kid doesn't accidentally twist the throttle too much?
Unfortunately the throttle is just off and on, and they go fast once they are up to speed. I replaced the throttle with one that gives you linear control.

Sounds like your batteries need to be replaced. There is enough Voltage for the light to come on for the switch but not enough to run the motors. The good new is you don't need to buy them from Razor, you can get generic SLA 12v batteries. You will need 2, I think they are 7 or 9AH. The higher the Ah the longer it should run. You can replace them if you have basic DIY skills, watch a couple of YT videos. There is also some tips out there to maximize the life of these batteries.
I swear we used it like 6 times, because no one liked it. I can't believe the battery is already failing. Really bad quality probably.

Thank you for the advice though.

I think the battery maintenance for these types of batteries is:
- Don't leave the charger constantly plugged in.
- When the charger turns green, disconnect the charger. (Some people use a plug in timer set for about 10 hours)
- It's best to use them regularly, so if not using them try to remember and charge it at least every 2 months.

The reality is, if you can get about 2-3 years of life out of these batteries that's pretty good. Anything past that consider it a bonus.

Got one of the razor pocket mods from a year ago deal, it stopped working already. Light turns on but the "engine" does not start. Razor's warranty is 90 day so it's basically a brick.

This one https://razor.com/products/electr...ocket-mod/

Save your money.
Open that b*tch up and replace the batteries. 😁

They're about $20 each for the 12Vs. Just make sure the sizes match up otherwise if you get close enough you can just use an oscillating multitool to remove some of the housing plastic.

Not very much. It's like 10 bolts or something.
A nut for the front wheel and some to connect the frame to handle

It's just on and off. But it takes a while to get to 14mph. Esp depends on weight of the rider.
The only thing I despise about the throttle is that you can't cruise at 8mph, you have to tap tap tap

This thing is a great beginner bike. And there's a smaller one too. The MX125
The only thing that sucks about it is the charge time, 8+ hours for 30ish mins of riding.
Do yourself a favor, if you plan to get any other electronics, upgrade to power tool batteries. They have adapters.
This one is 24v, so 2 18v batteries runs 36v.
At that point, you would want to upgrade the throttle from on/off to sensitive.
And also a 36v controller.
Use the batteries in all your electronics and not worry about them going bad.
Speed too much? Get a speed reducer (potentiometer).
Me my wife and son only had the mx125 at first. Then we got the mx350.
6 months later:
I've converted the mx125 12v 100w to 36v 450w from amp flow (mounted this past weekend. Now trying to 3d print new battery case for larger batteries)
And the mx350, doing the above, except for swapping the motors out for 1000w brushless motors (this or next weekend)
The reason why people get rid of these things is because their kids "outgrow" them.
The most expensive thing about these things are the batteries.
I personally run m18 12ah batteries. I use the dual simultaneous charger knock off on Amazon with 6A dual output of 3A.
It takes a little time to take off the battery case but it's worth the increased power, ride time, and recharge time.
Plus I can use these same batteries in a quad in going to pick up this weekend that's already upgrade to 36v but needs batteries for $100.
And he already has a mini tesla I'm working on.
I've gotten it to 10mph without burning out the 595 motors. Working on 3d printing new gearboxes 997 motors.
Decided that that was too ambitious, so now I'm testing a 775 motor instead of andymark, after I'm done with the above. Maybe a month from now. And maybe brakes after that.
Yes, we don't need all of that power, but it's nice to have it when you're off road and going uphill.
Have fun. Give your kids the childhood you've always wanted.
The reason why I upgraded his mx125 is so that we both can ride on it. For those who are wondering, it goes up to 21mph and have tons of torque. I'm not sure how to test that though. Open to suggestions. I'm 5'5" 140lbs. He's about 25lbs 2.5 years.
Some people run 72v on the mx350. Unsafe in my opinion, but to each their own.

It says 13+ and the little girl in the picture looks big. Do you have this bike? Don't wanna get it if it's too small.
My six year old rides this he's 55 lbs and it fits him perfectly.

Can you let us know what you installed? This seems like a great upgrade.

This is the kind of info I'm looking for. Can you point me to a forum or site where people share their wrenching on these? I don't have any intention to bump speed right now, but I definitely expect to convert to lithium packs I already own and throttle control should be factory standard IMO so I don't know why they would save 2 bucks on speed control.
