You're about to dive into a rabbit hole. Check out mattress underground. Get ready to learn how ridiculous it can be to find the right mattress, especially if you like a good deal.

Agreed... has to be one of the most maddening purchases you can make. Given the overlap between manufacturers, the constantly changing models, and the subjectiveness of the product, it's a complete crap shoot.

We're in the process of a move and needed a new queen mattress for at least a temporary basis at our new location. Ended up buying the hybrid Sweetnight yesterday Sweetnight Hybrid [woot.com] as we wanted a bit more edge support. With the pricing and the warranties, I guess it's hard to go too far wrong.

This is our first bed in a box and only went this way because I don't have to be there for delivery and we've got time to let it expand. That said, we bought a new $1500 'brand name' delivered mattress a few years ago. Advertised as Firm and it was the softest mattress I've ever slept on. Complained and got it replaced and the new one is fine. We had moved our old mattress to the guest room (a mid-priced store brand mattress from a local furniture store) and all of our guests love it. We get a ton of comments on it. So much so that we moved it back into our room.

In for one for my travel trailer... It cannot be worse than the stock queen mattress!

I'm right there with finding out how ridiculous it is finding the right mattress at a price I'm comfortable with (bad pun not intended lol). I super appreciate you mentioning mattress underground, thanks. Gonna check it out later.

Please update us (or me via PM) on how the Sweetnight mattress works out.

And if anyone else reading the thread has experience with the mattresses listed in the OP, please let me know Smilie I recently moved and got a decent deal on a "bed in a box" mattress that isn't as firm as I'd like Thanks

I actually DO have the Novilla mattress that we bought for a spare room back in 2022. So I've slept on it a total of 6 times and it was actually too firm...for me. But I prefer a softer mattress. So we bought a 3" foam topper and now it's amazing! Since putting on the foam it has been great.

The mattress itself is really firm, and it held its shape the entire time and if there was a deal on a Queen I'd definitely buy another. You can sit on the edge and not feel like you're rolling off. Even though it was too firm for us, I kept it with the thought that if someone didn't like our topper, they could just take it off and have a firmer bed.

And for this exact same mattress, but in a Queen, 2 years ago I paid $360 for it. So at $150 this is a steal.

The Amazon reviews for Novilla mattress are saying the cover sheet has fiberglass.

Honestly, asking other people for recommendations on a mattress sounds like a terrible decision. Everyone is different and what works for some people may not work for you.

For something you're going to spend a third of your life on, you want to try it out a lot personally.

For $150 bucks and a guest room? Can't imagine it's too bad.

We bought a Novilla mattress for our toddler. I've laid on it a few times and it's not bad. Not amazing but for a guest room or a kid it's perfectly fine.

On the fiberglass comment, Novilla claims they do not use it anymore but it doesn't specify anything about the cover sheet.

"We took it off once a study suggests this material might be a health threat." With an engineering IQ like that, what could go wrong.
