I'm really interested in these. Any thoughts? I want Bluetooth headphones that I can also use with my 3.5mm V-Moda boom mic for work, but lots of them are starting to move to 2.5mm jacks. A lot of headphones with Bluetooth also have "consumer friendly" audio profiles that don't give me the sound I want when plugged into a guitar amp. I was looking at Sennheiser Momentum 4s with a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, but that sounds inelegant.

I'd really like a do-it-all set with a flat sound, 3.5mm jack, Bluetooth, and ANC is nice but not necessary. Recommendations?

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you can use the boom mic in Bluetooth mode.

Had a pair of V-Moda Crossfade M-80s about ten years ago. Decent sound, certainly looked stylish. My biggest complaint was that the model I had were on-ear rather than over-ear, and that made them very unpleasant if not outright painful to wear for more than an hour at a time. I don't know if later models have rethought that design choice, but something to consider, if not.

The looks like they're exactly the same as the crossfade 2 codec edition (which came with aptx codec) except for the usb-c port?

If so, these were solid headphones for the price considering their design and fairly good if you like the V shaped sound. One of the better sounding Bluetooth headsets and it still has aux inputs.

Haven't swung by head-fi though. Curious what those folks think.

These are over ear. That said, the m-80s offered better and more balanced around than the crossfades in my opinion. I have both still (somewhere).

Damn, was just wearing crossfade 2 AAC codex I bought 4 years ago - love the sound, looks, and build quality but was cursing them for the outdated micro usb charging connector - still great headphones and going strong so it seems unnecessary for me to upgrade just to get usb-c charging and longer battery life, but it is tempting.

These are very unlike the plastic/lightweight fold flat Sony headsets, also used in my household, and do lack ANC and auto features - but I prefer the rugged nature, style, and small melon sized travel case for these V-Moda greatly.

Would also note that these V-Moda don't breathe too well and after long listening sessions outside walking in Southern California - I am left very sweaty.

My kid wears his Sony set almost 24/7 - so I think the light weight design of those work better for his use case.

I gamed with vmodas and the boom mic for a long time until the line integrity wore out from daily use. I liked them but I have found Sony 1000xm series to be superior at that price point.

Huge V-Moda fan from 2005-2015. Carried these with me everywhere. Absolute excellent sound, especially via the 1/4" plug coming from the home stereo receiver. When the 3/16" plug dropped from phone, I was an early buyer of the Bluetooth V-Moda and the sound was just as good. I even bought these for my kids, which they loved because they were "real" headphones and were good for car rides and trips and such. I fly a lot, so I wanted noise cancellation and tried the Bose and the Sony XM3. Ended up giving the Bose to my wife and went with the Sonys and never looked back. Have been a Sony XM3, XM4, now XM5 owner ever since. Sony has the complete package. I also wear the older XMs when on the riding lawnmower in the summer and it's like the engine isn't even on. In sum, V-Moda good, Sony better.

Roland bought the company and the products are different, for better or worse. I haven't tested them, just FYI.

I own the original m100, the Crossfade 2, and the m100 master. Didn't needs these headphones but I bought them anyways. Only saw the gold version on sale, but that's okay, I would have chose the gold or silver.
