There are some truly great movies on this list. But I also have never understood the draw of requiem for a dream. The "Bad Things Happen To Junkies" trope was the basis for several movies in the late 90's. I never found this to be more compelling than the rest.
I think the backdrop was NYC. Which rn seems a horrible place to be.
Problem with these deals is they seem to keep putting the same movies on sale. So, when I go to redeem Amazon digital video credits, I already have what I'd want.
That said, in for Stripes. Classic early 80s comedy with peak Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and John Candy. If that doesn't sound worthy of your time...
Office Space is probably the best movie on the list. Although you could probably convince me Once Upon a Time in Hollywood or Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid are better.
Baby Driver is fun. I should probably rewatch Snatch. I'm scared to rewatch The Fifth Element, as I loved it as a kid. Not sure if it will live up to how I remember it.
Daybreakers was such a cool concept for a movie. Vampires treating human blood as a commodity. But it was executed poorly enough that you will see Willem Dafoe jumping a Trans-am, and saying something like "think I'd miss this party?" Not even joking. Saw it with some coworkers and that became a running joke for a bit.
Haven't watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes, but how is that ranked above Tarantino's best film?
The Fifth Element is a classic and always will be! I was younger when seeing it for the first time as well and love it even more as an adult.
i was watching requiem for a dream the morning the twin towers collapsed.... the scene was where connelly is about to get it on with pimp dude and yeah.... i'll never forget the two. towers crashing at the screams of A2M rang through our apartment
My old squad met up on copper mountain for reunion and skiing. During a break Requiem Dream came on. It was like a bad car wreck. We couldn't stop watching it it. Ruined the whole weekend
Darren Aronofsky is a madman behind the lens. Clint Mansell and the Kronos Quartet dropped a bomb on the score. This movie is more memorable than most.
