I've never had $10 off $50 denied. In fact it's one per purchase so I've had them bill each gallon separately and apply it with each purchase. They don't care, they just want to sell paint.

Another tip is to purchase online and pick up in store. That way you can verify the final cost and don't have to deal with anyone in the store about price.

You can buy the paint (untinted) which is just the can and go back later and add the color you need. I have done this for years during there 40% sale, buy the paint and come back later once I figure out the color. Plus the $10 off $50 most likely can be combined becuase I do it all the time with the 40% off sales.

Always worth waiting for at least a 40% off coupon from S-W - cheaper than HD price (unless you happen to find a mistinted can in a color you can live with, and S-W paint (Super, Duration, Emerald, Cashmere) are a bit thicker than HD and less likely to run on walls).

The coupons keep coming around ... and you can buy the untinted and then bring them back later for tinting (but you need to buy the right base ...).

Unopened, the S-W paint should be fine for at least a few years, although keep the can dry or it may rust and leak. S-W and BM (metal) cans have gotten much thinner and I've had one leak (just enough to stain a wood shelf) over 5-7 years. Luckily, I'd used most of it and was only saving the rest for touch ups.

Years, but I suggest getting not tinted and not more than 90 days before the project start. That way u have time to exchange it.

Exchanging unopened cans is a major YMMV ... I've been told they don't do that (at several stores), even when it's just a matter of needing a different base - might depend on the area. Or else their policies have changed.
