Maybe it's so they can off road and get away from dumbass haoles that think Hawaii is their playground and end up drowning or needing rescue on hiking trails because they don't respect Hawaii 😂
As we saw in Lahaina recently, it was the boats that brought supplies, not the Tundras and Tacomas.

Anyone know how much these guys charge as their daily rate? Might pick this up instead of a Turo but only if the daily rate is low enough. Not worth swapping out cars either for 2 days.
70/day on Tuscon... not sure about Ioniq

Bus system on Oahu is awesome. The island has an app you and you can track (most, if not all) of the busses by location. We did this to keep the price down, but it also saved us time since we didn't have to find parking. Just FYI look into the unlimited day pass it paid for itself (if they still have it).
When we had one day on Oahu a couple years ago we took the bus from the airport to Pearl Harbor - it was intimidating (first world problem). I've never had to use busses before, and the maps, routes, fees, etc. all look like a foreign language to me. As I've been prepping for this trip I've pored over the webpage, read all the PDFs, looked at maps, studied Google transit (or whatever it's called), and am so relieved that we'll now have a (free) car for our two middle days.

Any recommendations or guides on that? Would love to visit again.
Nope. Step 1 was to live in California with dirt cheap off-season flights. Step 2 was having rewards points I could use for the hotel.

This will be the first time we've taken my daughter out of state, so anything we do should suit her. We're planning on some beach time, a visit to Pearl Harbor, the pineapple plantation, a waterfall or two, some of the local cultural points of interest, and all the unique hole-in-a-wall restaurants we can find.
